i like these - even though it's not as wacky or creative as some other rebuilds, i like putting the twist on a reaaaaally old school garment like barbour. kinda always had an affinity for barbour jackets too. (smiling)

i know that earlier seasons of ganryu were designed such that you could detach pants down the center via the zip fly which went all the way to the back (with another button at the waistband) then recombine different legs. these are essentially a locked take on those but with the ganryu crotch gusset instead.

i know that ganryu this season has the modular trousers still, albeit only for a skinny denim and chino and matching shorts which can do the same thing and then combine with the skinny trousers.

one of my closest friends iicky (whom also works at independence) worked his magic on my otherwise unworn blue-in-green jeans.
attention to detail, playing around with the idea of reconstruction, and his japanese-boro influence make him one of the greatest craftsmen i personally know.
there are many areas that are stitched with light-gauge string and often unfinished, he says that through washing these parts will "explode" and cause even more frays/surprises.
this is also frakenstein'd with a bunch of other fabrics/selvedge pieces that he owns personally.
it's a honor to own this, and i can't wait to see how this'll progress through wear.
