Still my favorite documentary of the year. Details the reaction of the international cyber security community to the emergence of the Stuxnet virus. Starts by putting you in the shoes of emerging threat analysts before giving you the intricate and disturbing history of its development, use, and implications. In the future, a cyber attack on a sovereign nation could easily be used as a justification for war in spite of their origins being so difficult to pin down. Cyber-WMDs made by intelligence agencies are a recipe for disaster.

Joe Simpson and Simon Yates are the first people to reach the summit of Siula Grande in Peru. When descending, Joe breaks his legs. His partner helps get him down little by little with rope, but shit happens. It shows how amazing the will for survival can be for someone. Would definitely recommend.

Another great documentary by Errol Morris (Fog of War, Thin Blue Line). In Fog of War (2003) he interviews Robert McNamara and eventually gets him to come to terms with his role in the Vietnam War. Here, he tries to get Donald Rumsfeld to do the same, but the results are more frightening than anything else. Spoiler alert: dude has no remorse. Great for the politically inclined.

Forced into a career of crooked Pentecostal preaching as child by his parents, Marjoe Gortner continues his dubious career while an unbelieving adult to pay the bills. But the dichotomy between his liberal idealism and the message he preaches becomes too much of a strain. The makers of this documentary capture Marjoe's last tour of the South.

My favorite part of this documentary is the truly fly-on-the-wall feeling the filmmakers achieve. At first it's almost impossible to believe that it's a documentary with the level of immersion the cameras give. But slowly you begin to notice details, like a child glancing at the camera, or catching the crew in a mirror or across the room. Apparently the film crew passed themselves off as true "Brothers and Sisters", and had to maintain this facade for the duration of their production.
