Re: Fashion

I have thought about this for quite some time. I think most people are fashionable assuming one is making a conscious decision on what clothes they are buying/wearing on a daily basis. I find inspo every time I walk outside (NYC), from people of all ages and lifestyles. I disagree that some people a...

Re: Eyewear

Thoughts on Jacques Marif Mage? Seems damn overpriced and most everyone that I have seen wear them, can't pull them off. Doesn't help that they're older and pair them with clothes that don't exude the same level of "coolness" the glasses do.

Re: trend forecasting is flaxy

For more "classic menswear", I think we're gonna see a huge shift in what is accepted in the office (finance) due to COVID. My boss has seen me in T-shirt, sweaters, lounge pants, etc. that coming back into the office next June in button-up, wool trousers, and oxfords would be weird. Think...

Re: World's Greatest

Quick discussion on the recent VF acquisition of Supreme. Generally, when a Company gets acquired, the parent (VF Corp), makes numerous changes. I suspect that you're going to see way more drops within the next 1-2 years, continued diversity into home/bath (higher margin), and a slight decrease in q...

Re: DANA LEE (safesearch is ON)

Anyone want to give me a TL;DR on this designer? I heard of her many years ago but never understood the hype or why she left the scene (assuming she didn't return) considering her popularity.

Re: Reps

I believe in reps. Morally, if you exclude the unethical work conditions (assuming every rep seller has/promotes unethical conditions), I think there is a relatively strong argument to justify reps. Also, if you don't care about all that, buying reps is the fastest way to get a huge purchase high. I...

Re: All that glisters is not gold

Pretty sick stuff. If you got the time, how did you even get started in making jewelry (what stuff you need, where you learn, etc)?

Re: Random Rhetorical Hypebeast Fashion Thoughts

I'm curious, people who purchase "hype" items, how much is it because of the hype and how much is it because you actually like it? Also, is your purchase of the "hype" item because you want to wear, resell, or have an item that is seen as valuable? Throughout my teenage years and...

Re: The Price Of Quitting The Game

I loved this time During COVID-19, I have been buying a ton more (~30% of my annual spending) and need to cut this down by at least half next year. I got some jewelry (rings, necklaces) and have finally had to chance to dress how I wanted. If I could do this forever, I believe I can quit but of cour...

Re: office trainers

feel like my productivity is way down and idk if it's because I'm remote and stupid remote desktop doesn't automap CMD on mac to control if you're remoted in, or because of stress & anxiety from covid. also hate the inability to distance myself from "home" and "work" when th...

Re: Here is ramdomthought!

How do y'all feel about all this talk about wage adjustment based on where you live re: remote workers? It seems popular response is that it's bad. But I feel like bringing silicon valley "bucks" into rural areas like montana/idaho/wyoming is way more problematic than someone getting a 5-...

Re: The Price Of Quitting The Game

Mostly quit the game after harboring a shit ton of outerwear and realizing that I only wear 1 outfit outside of the normal weekday. Only thing I buy now are dress pants / dress shirts but that is more of a necessity than me wanting to experiment, enjoy it, etc. Still enjoy just looking and lusting c...

Re: office trainers

General thoughts on WFH for people that are still lucky to have jobs?

Personally, I prefer it heavily over going into the office. Just lounging half-naked in some shorts crunching numbers is so much better than wearing dress shoes and shirts for 10+ hours straight.

Re: office trainers

I seem to constantly spill things on my work clothes. Either that or I notice more since I spend so much time ironing them. I've also noticed my work clothes seem to fall apart pretty quickly. The stitching on the front pockets is always the first to go. I've resorted to air drying everything. Have...

Re: office trainers

Cool something I can contribute to. I work at one of the largest banks in the world in a "front facing" role which essentially means I need to be professionally dressed most of the times. When I started (first job) and gotten pretty off-hand comments about the way I dress as I was still le...
