Re: Lift things up and put them down.

Curious for y'all's take on this I'm running a cut right now (down to 200 from 225) with plans to continue to maybe 185-190. I'm very comfortable being hungry so it's a pretty severe cut, probably eating in the range of 1200 calories a day after bulking at over 4000. My wife was worried that I was s...

Re: Random Rhetorical Hypebeast Fashion Thoughts

Said it in the comment but I agree. The clothes look good but to be benefiting from the culture and aesthetics of cultures other than your own, particularly when your own people have systemically disenfranchised and colonized the culture that you're farming, is gross to me unless it is very specific...

Re: the constant canvas: skincare!

speaking of normie level skincare, any tips on being more consistent? i'll go a month or so where I'm good and then I just forget about it

my skin is decent without upkeep which makes it easier to stop using stuff but I definitely need to at least moisturize more regularly

Re: THEORY

i guess i'm pretty old-fashioned in thinking that the text isn't reducible to the author and actually exists completely outside of the author's control or intent (i.e. texts/words/signs mean things all on their own). This hits me as being an important conflict for this conversation. Forgive me if I...

Re: \\ Dungarees \\ Overalls // Coveralls //

Seems as though there's some confusion: coveralls = sleeves & full torso covered, overalls = legs + some torso + straps, no sleeves (at least in US).

, why were coveralls a pain?

Re: How much do you like your PBJ?

In my experience in the US, jam = fruit preservatives while jelly = sugar + gelatin + fruit flavoring. Jelly doesn't have any bits of fruit. I'm sure it's different everywhere though. Jelly texture: http://i.imgur.com/5IUelgMl.jpg Jam texture: http://i.imgur.com/D4xOg14l.jpg

Re: Feelings

A dear friend of mine just got diagnosed with leukemia. So that's my friend, my current boss, an aunt, an uncle, a living grandpa, a dead gramps, and myself. It's hard not to fall on platitudes with this thing. "Fuck cancer". It affects so many. Everybody dies anyway, this just takes them ...

Re: How do you like your PBJ?

I've always viewed PB&J's as a challenge. Never less than a centimeter of each and often more. It's a battle between you and your lunch (never dinner), where your dexterity and endurance are pitted against the inevitability of ingredient spillage. It's a messy and fun way to eat PB&J, which ...

Re: random fashion thoughts

I've always loved sneakers and sneaker culture and design and the crazy vastness of variety and depth that can be found there, but buying sneakers doesn't make any sense with my current wardrobe outside of the Forces I already have. : (

Re: Musicians' thread

meatjacket Biggest recommendation for pedals based on my personal experience (I used to be a huge gearhead) is to only buy pedals when you've found yourself lacking them. I bought a lot of pedals when I was younger based on the the lists of pedals everyone should own that ended up having no relevan...

Re: Veganarchism

Has anybody else seen 100% Food? I found it a few days ago and it's an interesting concept. It's a seed-based powder portioned so that three shakes a day fills all nutritional requirements (based on FDA 2000 kcal diet). Flavors come in raw/organic and chocolate. Ingredients include: - Organic golden...

Re: Don't tell the bride

I don't know too much about wedding attire so I'll post a classic: Balenciaga: Cristóbal Balenciaga's single-seam wedding dress in 1967, a year before his final collection. http://i.imgur.com/DVLzKSCl.jpg The front is almost austere, but the back... http://i.imgur.com/jE703FZl.jpg http://i.imgur.com...

Re: Veganarchism

I've never entirely understood why people distinguish between sea-meat and land-meat - "but you still eat fish right?" is the number one thing people ask me when they discover that I'm vegetarian. I don't really understand it but I guess it's a thing. If anything I would think it'd be the...

Re: Travel

I'll be in Paris for a week this summer. Absolutely going to the Yohji flagship. Other than that though, I've no clue what I should be seeing. Does anybody with any familiarity with the city have any recommendations? Could be museums, restaurants, events, anything.

Re: Ask a question, get an answer

Unfortunately Velva Sheen is what I'm wearing right now and it's much too long. I'm talking essentially cropped - to be worn over the top of high-rise trousers and hit at or near the waistband.

Re: Lift things up and put them down.

Also, as far as the bench press, I quit benching for months because I was getting nowhere and starting to risk injury. This is the video that turned that around for me. Best opening line ever. _QnwAoesJvQ For me it was almost entirely a form issue. Keeping the shoulder blades together and focusing ...

Re: Lift things up and put them down.

Power Rack Advantages: - greater adjustability in safeties; can remove altogether - greater adjustability in height bar is held at, though this is probably of minor concern as you're not extremely tall or short - b/c of above, can use for exercises where you might want bar held at knee height, such...

Re: ramdom jorts

I'm at the end of my spring break. Over the past week I went to a few different museums, particularly the High Museum in Atlanta. Apparently we had Girl With A Pearl Earring for a bit and I missed that, which was disappointing. I did see a couple Rothkos and a Basquiat, in terms of recognizable name...
