Re: Opportunity Costs

How odd, I also call these types of boots 'leather socks'. I'm not a fan, although they can be really comfy.

Re: Tender Is The Night

I had some of their stuff, 130 woad jeans, have a woad guards jacket and had some 129 wattle jeans. They're brilliant! I just sold most of it but I kept the 130 woad dyed jeans for a rainy day.

This kind of English manufacturing really excites me, which is why I'm starting another brand to honour it!

Re: We don't run on this high street; we run this high stree

I really don't enjoy most high street brands. Unless it's scarce or collectable I can't seem to get into it these days. I make an exception for COS every now and again though, but I wouldn't consider them High Street - they had a towelling sweater a while back that I still regret passing up. Has any...

Re: We don't run on this high street; we run this high stree

Yeah, they may be on the high street but they're not 'high street'. You're right about location, but they don't have shops on every street possible, and I feel like their design direction is clear and less mainstream trend focused. They're not the bleeding edge, but they're not reactionary fashion e...

Re: We don't run on this high street; we run this high stree

Really like some of the y-3 stuff but I just never wear trainers. I had some of the white Warrior High boots but they were such a 'look'.

Too many jackets, this one is so good but I only have one body. It's good for time in the country though.

WANTED (dead or alive)

State things you want other people to keep an eye out for you for.

If anyone ever sees any enormous vintage jeans, I'm talking 44 inch waist + let me know. Super bonus if they're shop display or signage.

Or a sleeveless liner for a military jacket/flight suit. Bonus if before '50s

Re: Best of WAYWT

I love spectacles, up until this year I had a real big problem with collecting them. Don't ever pay retail - get something off eBay. I got a pair of awesome Cutler and Gross ones for £2.50 a few years ago and some amazing Cazals for under £50.

Re: Best of WAYWT

FP is very different generationally in the UK. Some people might remember the old connotations, but I doubt younger generations do. In fact, they came up in conversation with a young twentysomething, recently who said he always thought they were born out of Britpop. Anyway, here's what I wore today....

Re: Best of WAYWT

Bought in Japan, it's odd and interesting, made of a waffle knit kind of cotton. It's indigo dyed and has some wear on it, and we've been using it as the basic pattern for our jacket, though we've tweaked it here and there. I like it because it's a good layering piece, and it looks either smart or c...

Re: Acne Vulgaris

A lot of my friends like acne, but I'm not that impressed. I think their design exceeds their production quality, and it's a bit of a shame. That said, they can be quite cool, and it's a shop I've sent friends to and told them they can buy any combination of items and wear them together stylishly.

Clockwise: Mushroom, sauce made of soy + lime + water, coriander, avocado with sriacha(sp?), assorted seeds, pak choi, and soba noodles in middle.

Re: Without MSG I Am Nothing

Yeah I cooked it - it's super simple. 1. Cook the soba noodles 2. Mix 1tbsp soy sauce with 1/2 a lime and some water. Add honey if you like 3. Cut up any veggies you want and cook them however. I 'fry' the mushrooms (just a hot pan with no oil)) 4. Plate. The seeds are a seed mix of sunflower seeds ...

Re: beards

Grow out beard for as long as possible then go to any indian/turkish/sri lankan/arab/jewish barber and ask then to tidy it up. Should cost around £3 for the pleasure plus £1-3 for them to thread cheeks (if needed) and about £1-3 to hot shave/tidy the neck area. They'll usually trim the sidburns and ...
