There's a great quote that Alan Alda says on M*A*S*H about the human body being eighty-something cents of chemicals, and that's all they're worth without love. Lt. Col. Henry then says "My marriage is only worth (~)$1.78??"
Uniqlo- An OCBD for the common working man. If you're blue collar, get one of these to match. May not be pricy or high quality materials but it has everything else, you name it! Seams, collar, openings for your arms, hems, fabric content on the tag, etc! The shape is best described as torso-esque. I...
Hopefully I'm not spamming too much. In this photo I'm wearing an attachment shirt that smiles recommended from rakuten then a tank and pants that I made. http://i.imgur.com/4uUTOhMl.png http://i.imgur.com/is87Ao2l.png The butt area of jeans are super tough to get right. At least I avoided doing a f...
This is my first pair of jeans. Has patch pockets on both front and back. with a moto-esque zipper on the outside seam. sorry for terrible mirror shot. I have a black pair of jeans I just finished as well. and a VTB-esque tank done as well. Starting a harem-esque pair of tan lounge pants tonight too...
Sometimes I get all teary-eyed when people let me into traffic after I've had my blinker on for awhile. Or people holding the door open. Or helping you when you drop stuff. When people are nice, it's the best.
Good places for shoes/boots on the white->black spectrum? I've been thinking about saving for RO's and Common Projects, but am open to other shoes of any price range. (Well... sub 1k for sure. Preferably under 500) Things I'm look for: Leather, suede, roughout. Mid or hi-top. I really like the look ...
Did this between last night and today. Gonna add a zipper and I think that'll be that. Want to make a denim moto jacket next. Nervous to do so without a pattern though. This is the result of measuring a jacket that fits me and eyeballing the rest.
Found a "fashion of the native americans" book at the library today. A few shots: http://i.imgur.com/fSAAo6Ml.jpg http://i.imgur.com/AZbFc5Ml.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3JtoTVUl.jpg And here's some early 90's CDG http://i.imgur.com/pZqEodLl.jpg
IMO, it's not hard to get away with really simple shoes even in tough terrain. I've hiked in zion's, arches, goblin valley, really tough downclimbs all in 7$ slip on shoes from walmart. It gave the barefoot feel without getting burnt feet from hot rock/cut on rocks/etc.
I'm trying to meet more people into fashion. Also so many in people in Utah suck so I don't have very many friends in real life. Created an account a while ago, listened to the podcasts made, and finally decided to start commenting. Hi.
The GQ magazine I read at the library (I was bored, k) said that there is a dramatic shift in men's' fashion! O: we're switching from americana prep to european classic. All I know is it means Bradley Cooper is wearing white pants. Realistically... I'm gonna say smoking jackets will become bigger. O...
Starting my second pair of pants in 3 days. Gaining immense amounts of respect for anyone who makes clothes. It's really hard to start thinking in the third dimension when you're looking at a 2d pattern. Got this super super soft rayon fabric (feels like heaven's jersey) and I'm going to make a VTB-...
Two years ago when I joined reddit I was binging on Community. Everyone was constantly telling me how much I reminded them of Abed (thanks I think?) and there's an ending of the show where Abed keeps asking Troy if he's krumping correctly. I also like dancing. I probably would have changed it, but I...
NBC lied to me about hockey coverage last weekend. Said to watch it live on TV in the morning, so I even get up early to watch this event (hockey). And it's just two hosts going on about russian food and interviewing "Moms of the Olympics". I hate the "backstory pandering" that t...
@smiles, because they're so good or so bad? Guessing it's bad, but for the price, I dunno. Never handled any of their stuff myself. @everyone, are their any lines/brands/etc that are more along the lines of allsaints styling but mall-tier prices? Or at least priced more appropriately for the quality...
@bela, I actually like a lot of AllSaints styling. Moreso their women's line though. My girl really wants one of their leather dresses. What do you recommend as alternatives? (For both men and women)
If you're doing it purely for warmth, I think looping the scarf around once, so both ends are draping on your chest on either side is the best way to go. Wear it slightly loose and create cozy boy air pockets. Plus I don't think it looks bad. EDIT: Question.. people who have experience dyeing clothe...
Whoa, now I feel really dumb because I just listened to the most recent episode where you had already talked about my suggestion. Well, good thinking ;)
Post That being said I can't picture vegas being that terrible. I'm assuming there's a lot of dudes still wearing trues and stuff but as long as you keep things somewhat grounded I think you'd be fine there. I'm just in vegas for the weekend. I'm from just outside SLC. I'm just wearing black jeans,...
A couple fashion thoughts that have been on my mind.. How many of you feel limited in achieving goals in fashion by where they live? Like the designers you want to wear won't fly in the suburbs? Do you let that stop you? Should I let that stop me? Las Vegas is, so far, the fashion atrocity capitol o...
Have you guys thought of adding in a "Wait wait don't tell me"esque section to the podcast with quiz elements? Who's Carl This Time and similar? Would be a cool way to incorporate fashion news in it?
I drove to Las Vegas (took forever because of lane closures) all yesterday. Get in, get comped some crap cause it took forever to get our room. Ate our free Denny's breakfast this morning and now I'm trying to not throw up and I haven't even been out on the strip yet. :(
