Re: Travel

Anyone here spent much time in Indonesia? My girlfriend is designer/pattern maker/fabric sourcer for Uniqlo and they just told her they want her to goto Indonesia for a year to help oversea operations and some of their factories there, so it looks like I might be going there for a few months atleast...

Re: There is a runway show inside everyone

I always thought it would be hilarious to gather 30-40 people from traditionally fashion unconscious areas of the world...like 45 year old soccer moms from Omaha, ranchers from Texas, or oil rig workers from Alberta. Ask them to critique each piece of your collection individually worn by models (bes...

Re: ramdom fashion jorts

bela (thanks syeknom) I actually feel dumb cause I've brought her up in a few convo's already, I don't mean to be ''that guy'' but it's just been a couple situations relevant to things her and I have discussed. I actually told her about c-t and how much I like it and she thought it sounded cool but...

Re: ramdom fashion jorts

@Rosenrot (how do I actually tag your name? I'm stupid) Take it for what it's worth because it's pretty anecdotal, but my gf got her Degree in Fashion Design at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, and had Yohji as a sessional lecturer/instructor multiple times. She doesn't talk much about it or him but ...

http://cache.mrporter.com/images/products/485890/485890_mrp_fr_l.jpg I really want a pair of the Margiela x Jack Purcells but I don't want to pay full retail for them..I know they aren't much ($220) but I just don't want to pay that much for a pair of Converse. Re: 'trainers by the truck load, trainers by the tonne'

We got the BWGH x Puma stuff at the store I work at.. It's really nice stuff, the shoes all have really nice texture in the fabric, though the colors look a lot more vibrant in those pictures. It's cool stuff and the price isn't bad.. I might get a pair of the salmon toes tough I still think the sal...

Re: "I study Fashion academically"

Well said, I guess it's just easy for us to jump to the conclusion or hope that the fashion world would be more forward thinking, or even that women would be more well represented due to women being the majority of most brands demographics.

Re: "I study Fashion academically"

@heckawheel I get what you're trying to say and you put it together quite well..and on some points I definitely agree, I just don't know if it's the answer to what we were actually saying was the ''problem''. I know a lot of girls who I think love clothes (in my mind not the same as loving fashion, ...

I've always loved photography but never taken the time to get into it..This last year I found a great deal on an older Canon (450D) while browsing craigslist and took the plunge...still not happy with my photo's but I am definitely noticing a difference from when I started...these are some I took in...

Re: "I study Fashion academically"

I am somewhat surprised that the number isn't more tilted in favor of men, my girlfriend has worked on quite a few design teams for a few companies ranging from SPA brands to '' high fashion '' in both mens and womens wear, and says that the only time she ever works with a male designer, he is likel...

Re: Ask a question, get an answer

Does anyone have the Rick Owens double layered t-shirt? I've found a deal I might jump on but am unsure about how it might fit me...I'm somewhat short and thick...not overly so but I'm not as skinny as a lot of people who might wear RO. I usually wear a Medium and it's a Medium, I'm about 5'7-5'8 an...

Re: Hangout/podcast: Which V-Neck Cardigan Should I Wear To

This was my favorite episode of the podcast yet, I think A LOT of people that are into CdG or other similar houses/designers have a similar history to their relationship with the brand as you guys described. The first few times you see some of the designs it's hard to actually contextualize your fee...

Re: Damir Doma Men's S/S15

Contrary to what some seem to be saying, I actually like some of the individual pieces in this collection, and could see myself getting them. Re: sandals/thongs/flippy floppies

@starfox64 totally agree, to be fair the style I was looking at was a little different (the zurichs in black to the floor leather ) as well so that might have had something todo with it .. under $400? That's insane.. but yeah the price here on brands like Visvim is laughable.. as is the discrepancy ...

Re: Designers 101

I think the difference in how TNF is received in Korea is pretty funny, I'm from Canada so I have a goose down TNF parka that is not my style at all, but on -40 days I don't care too much about how I look..I wore it once in KR and my girlfriend made fun of me saying I looked like a middle schooler. ...
