solutions to the cyberpunk problem

yeah it's 'culturally significant' but i can't read the awful genre prose (and anyway far too late to start now). post useful manifestations (films, tv, twitter accounts, memes, gifs, buzzfeed listicles etc). please be discriminating, i watched a whole season of mr robot on a teen recommendation and...

Re: News/Current Events, discussion (Bullets, Ballots & Bomb

im sure that's true but once you get into longer term prognostications it seems like all bets are off anyway? was talking to a guy from the treasury a few weeks ago who says the EU still has vast problems that have just been papered over and the very nature of the union prevents any effective soluti...

Re: News/Current Events, discussion (Bullets, Ballots & Bomb

interesting that none of the dire economic problems thought to be the inevitable consequence of brexit have materialised yet, remember all that osborne/lagarde stuff about house prices falling 30% etc. could be that its still to come. economic forecasting is about as post-truth as it gets though fro...

Re: I don't know what I want (Buyer's guide)

Not sure how I reply to people giving you reps, but the problem with APC parkas is usually that they're a bit too long for my taste and the same with Our Legacy even though I really like their designs (OL pricerange is also a bit better usually). Does anyone else have a suggestion? for reference, t...

Re: Best of WAYWT

thanks, yeah it's really that i'm trying to make the coat work. it's not as slim as others i own and might be a touch too strong in the shoulders but was hoping, given the beautiful cashmere fabric, that could be considered as 'drape'. you can't really see from the pic, but trousers are boiled polye...

even with the trousers let down the jacket shortness would bug me, although perhaps it could work if you wear it open with a t or something? lovely material.

Re: We don't run on this high street; we run this high stree

it's an interesting question, i mean everyone in fashion/art rips off everyone else- that's what flintstone is, right? but it's only distasteful (to me and, i presume, others here) when a big conglomerate lifts from a small(er) independent. you can't escape from that question of power. recent exampl...

Re: Toilet Water

new Le Labo :woop: http://i.imgur.com/tvywgbPl.jpg?2 I'm addicted to rose and musk so this is perfect. it has a lot of cedar-y woods, which I unexpectedly like on my skin. the rose is more dried rose petal than fresh-picked rose (still looking for that grail super light and fresh lemony rose perfum...

Re: Ask a question, get an answer

yeah definitely, non functional is much easier because the tailor can take them up from the wrist area and re-attach the buttons if necessary. much harder when functional as that might necessitate shortening from the shoulder, which can alter the sleeve pitch.

Re: De Antwerpse Zes - Belgische Modeontwerpers

it is a tricky one because the idea of margiela as collective was a deliberate attempt to emphasise the industrial nature of fashion production and a reaction against the legacy of romanticism that stresses the visionary individual as the fount of creativity, which i completely agree with... at the ...
