Re: Coffee and tea-vee

A number of the places in France had insane prices. Where it was available in Paris, chemex was priced at ~8euros. Wasn't spectacular and it took forever tooo. In regards to beans, I spend ~15 for the La Colombe beans my local cafe gets. Recently, if I didn't make it, then I'm drinking those slow-dr...

Re: Belly rubs [food thread]

These are very nice!!! My last place didn't have an oven and I moved into this new place this month so I take it as a sign that I should spend this quarantine baking. So far it's been pizza every lunch but I've since run out of flour and all the stores are out of bread variety. I placed a request at...

Re: Random Rhetorical Hypebeast Fashion Thoughts

[...] It reminded me of this article on Vestoj (http://vestoj.com/helmut-lang-the-tale-of-a-new-identity/) which if this link is broken [...] The link was broken but that article sounded so interesting I looked to see if there were any archives of it and found this one https://web.archive.org/web/2...

Re: What are you reading today/book club

I've been having a mafia movie stint recently and so decided to pick up The Godfather by Puzo. It feels like I'm running through it, and I'm unsure if it's because of how much I like the book for itself, or if it's because I'm having the movie do a lot of the imaginative heavy-lifting. What do y'all...

Re: Gardening

Does anyone else watch "Big Dreams Small Spaces"? I recently finished the first season (it's on Netflix) and found it so charming and encouraging that I just want to start something radical with the space I have and take care of some lovely greens. If anybody has a home garden that's focus...

Re: Veganarchism

Thanks! and of course! I veganized Tartine's recipe for yeasted puff pastry (I subbed any instance of milk with the kind of almond breeze that comes in a box. Re: Vegan clothing

What do y'all wear when it's extra cold outside? (sub 10 degrees + windchill)

I've been relying on an old down cardigan and a fuzzy jacket this year but I think I'm ready to splurge on a vegan winter coat - any suggestions?

Re: Veganarchism

Happy holidays, everybody! Do you guys ever feel an obligation to make food for big family holidays? I've had that mindset for this past Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners with my family (~15-20 people), which can be a bit exhausting when it comes to testing recipes during the days leading up to the...

Re: a/s/l: the new member introduction zone

Hey, I'm Julius. I'm 19 and a sophmore at Rutgers in NJ. I've always had an interest in design, I always picture myself studying it if I wasn't doing what I am now, and I guess that's where fashion comes in for me. There are two threads in particular that made me want to join the community here and ...

Re: Travel

Still in Paris and it's messing me up how the sun stays up for such a large portion of the day. I feel like I'm going crazy and that I've entered into an odd spirit world where night never comes and language is a barrier Also wondering if anybody has any suggestions for things to do during Bastille ...

Re: Travel

Been in Paris for two days so far for a study abroad program and it's a blast. Anyone know any good places to buy coffee beans though? I've checked most of the indoor markets in the area and everything is either pre-grinded or doesn't have a roast date. Is this something I gotta wait for the outdoor...

Re: Care-tags.fr

J'irai en France cet été pour étudier à l'étranger!
Un lieu que je connais est le APC surplus boutique sur une rue à la droite de Sacré-Cœur. C'est si si si près, alors si tu seras autour là, c'est une bonne boutique à visiter.

Re: Coffee and tea-vee

Yeah, I think I can say I love it for the same reasons you do, esp. for how simple the whole system is. The pouring is meditative, but grinding through enough beans to fill me thermos with coffee can be a pain in the ass some mornings. I did more research and I think what will suit my needs would be...

Re: Coffee and tea-vee

I got a Kalita dripper so I can make coffee in my dorm and not have to make the trip to sbux or dunkin.
