Re: Explain cyberpunk to pirx so he can sell it to old peopl

thephfactor this seems a rather regressive, humanist approach tho? feel u r not a true nerd. if there's one thing we can learn from the machines (a la lee sedol/alphaGo) surely it's that one should always utilise the hive-mind? there was actually a very good example here a while back: i was talking...

Re: We don't run on this high street; we run this high stree

so julio was right, even sized up the jwa cord suit trousers were too tapered/eurosprezz, backed the whole thing.
uniqlo u fishtail parka looks quite good, and flannel overshirt seems a nice shape. judging by the last collection the wool blend outerwear won't be up to much though.

for planche progression i copied this, the socks on the wall stuff is helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvbLSgWMJec also doing the yoga frog position and holding is pretty good for helping you to understand the balance element. but mostly its just strength, not just shoulders etc but core/legs...

Re: Lift things up and put them down.

it looks fine, reasonably balanced i think. i don't bother with bench these days, and dont even do weights apart from squats/DLs, this stuff is much more enjoyable and it makes more sense to do whole body exercises rather than just working a single muscle group: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amsCm...

Re: What are you reading today/book club

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017/sep/24/bruce-chatwin-in-patagonia-fortieth-anniversary saddens me that bruce chatwin is not much read these days, for all that (as i've said before) his whole 'well off white guy espousing nomadic lifestyle' stance was a bit suspect he was way better than all t...

Re: I don't know what I want (Buyer's guide)

i don't wear denim much these days so not a purchase i could get excited about but there was a definite gap in my wardrobe for a pair of straight leg black jeans, find the uniqlo slim straights too skinny now and the regular cut is too wide around the hips for me. the added stretch was what swung it...

Re: Photography thread

interesting, to me that just looks like a random photoshop cut and paste edit: sorry that perhaps sounds a bit high-handed and dismissive, but it really seems sort of pointless to me on both conceptual and pure form level? if it was painted it might look like one of those 70s sci fi novel covers, wh...

Re: Explain cyberpunk to pirx so he can sell it to old peopl

i want it to be a proper film, not just meditation on identity/transmission etc. judith butler/derrida stuff is my 'natural' (lol) context, like i said i know very little about sci fi, what i want is people who can help frame this within the medium/genre. essentially i want people who can tell me st...

tbh im working on sci fi film project with trans artist and of course butler/mulvey identity/performativity is central, perhaps too much so. i want to engage with/exploit true nerds, how do i find them? sci fi/gamer forums?

Re: Explain cyberpunk to pirx so he can sell it to old peopl

it really is just that final sequence that slips the net, which is why i think its important. i saw an interview where garland said he thought about finishing with ava in the lift but felt it would then become the story of the nerd guy, and he wanted it to be ava's narrative (which as you say is alm...

Re: Explain cyberpunk to pirx so he can sell it to old peopl

i get what you're saying but the problem is the very grammar of those final images embodies the humanist cliches of thinking/being in the world that she mimicked earlier on ('are you a good person'? etc). the way they're shot/framed; sunlight blue skies etc. it's a structural problem with film that ...
