Re: homes, houses, and abodes

I really, really like wood, but I've also started looking into concrete. I've been planning a little concrete table build which I'll probably do for Xmas. This past year I've made a couple of things for my girlfriend - the first one was a pretty simple rail. I planned to make it double height origin...

Re: feeltalk thread

in '10 he came to London and picked up a copy of a magazine I worked for and apparently loved one of our shoots so much he pinned it all over his bedroom wall. He invited the girl who styled the shoot out and while I didn't meet him, she said he was really enthusiastic in a childlike way about fashi...

Re: Best of WAYWT

It was more for pollution in Hanoi than anything else. But here I just like it, I dunno why, kind of 40's workweary and I thought I might need it if the dancing was really, uh... rigorous.

Re: Best of WAYWT

I love bandanas, I dunno, it doesnt bother me. If, however, it has a loose weave it can pull at my neck hairs which does drive me mad. I used to wear one over my mouth when motorbiking, so it's pretty natural for me now.

Hangout/podcast: Which V-Neck Cardigan Should I Wear Today

I think it might be interesting to try this if anyones game. Doesn't have to be now, just something to think of for the future. I think there are people who will listen to other people just talking about internet fashion and we could have a rolling roster of people talking each time.

Re: 'trainers by the truck load, trainers by the tonne'

I have never been able to wear trainers. I bought a pair of Y-3 Warriors recently and it just didn't work for me. As a result, I'm kind of 'trainer blind' and I honestly cannot tell them difference from one to the other. I do like the look of some, but rarely.

I don't even know how to begin answering this one, materials are often the first thing I look at. Re: feeltalk thread

Yeah, and thanks for the backup. I don't know, but I'm guessing it might be one person making several accounts, but whoever it is/they are really don't like the way I dress. In all honesty, I don't care, but it's not like I love the attention. If it's on a fit pic or something I don't mind but when ...

Re: feeltalk thread

Just wanted to say that user 'DumIdiot' messaged me yesterday and apologised for the 'dumb stupid fashion' post. He said it was just really bad wording on his part and he was sorry. I explained that yeah, it was probably bad wording but also a little hypersensitivity on my part because I've been get...

Mum and Dad's garden bears pears every year, but they never do anything with them. Re: ramdom fashion thoughts

Simmel has to be taken in context, like all academics. He may well have been correct in his social context, and I believe that he probably was. Looking back at not only fashion but furnishings and the ilk, trends were driven by royalty, the upper class, and luminaries. These bled down to the lower s...

Re: stupid dumb idiot fashion

I don't know if this is serious or not, but for my part it doesn't bother me one bit. Although if it was serious I'd think it'd be better being called 'odd/weird fashion' rather than "stupid dumb idiot fashion". In case it is serious: "often incorporating comically oversized or unders...

Re: Small wallet, big ideas - the DIY thread

Not really a DIY garment making post (although I do make some of my own clothes) but I got these 50's overalls a while back.
