Re: the quaint economy

speaking of shoes, aurora shoes out of upstate new york are stocked by nepenthes (cheaper than buying them direct too) and make really cool leather slip ons (similar to birks in a way). will definitely cop when my birks get worn out. http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0201/0024/products/BRN-SIDE1_gran...

Re: the quaint economy

^have you tried any of their stuff? stumbled upon their insta account the other day. bites of the visvim look a little too much for me, but I could definitely see myself rocking one of those medicine bags.

Re: Airport Jacket

the best airport jackets have lots of pockets, are generally unstructured, and can be folded/tossed around and still look good. m65 type jackets and unstructured blazers like EG bedfords rule the roost, imo.

Re: the quaint economy

https://www.etsy.com/shop/KnockKnockLinen?ref=l2-shop-info-name just found this linen shop out of the UK on etsy. absolutely gorgeous stuff. messaged them to see if they could make up this jacket with a standard collar in a mens cut. https://img0.etsystatic.com/043/0/6426799/il_570xN.571751932_trri....

Re: Got a broken clock

very topical thread for me. like everyone who "gets into" fashion i bought a cheap timex, which i lost in a drunken rampage (have since found). then teger from styleforum sent me another timex, which i liked because it was a little larger and the dial was black. the battery died so I recen...

Re: Engineered Garments

Woah woah woah woah woah. Spring summer outerwear can be worn in the winter underneath another coat. Plus if it's a blazer it can be worn indoors year round. FW outerwear can't be worn in the summer and it can't be worn indoors unless you live and work in an ice cave. For me it has to be spring sum...

Re: Engineered Garments

i agree, in part. my other fw eg jackets (wool serge andover, wool flannel hartford) aren't too heavy to be layered or worn inside. honestly, that's the biggest thing I don't like about the wool bedford i'm selling. it's a beautiful thick fabric but is more of a piece of outerwear than a mid layer.

Re: Engineered Garments

fw outerwear > ss outwear though.

turns out it's the "quilted" andover from fw09. pretty excited to get it, 09 was a rad collection and the quilting should be great for winter. just crossing my fingers that it's not too puffy to be worn under a parka or something.
