Re: The Lemones

I don't know if I 100% buy the "uniqlo went +j" theory because I think uniqlo was already pretty +j. Though my memories of +j are fading... fading away... i'm not saying that they copied every item but some of the coats and cardigans they put out last winter bore a strong resemblance to t...

Re: feeltalk thread

i went to lotteria in japan over the weekend. it's a korean fast-food chain that is absolutely terrible, so naturally i was curious to see if the japanese, with their higher standards for food, would eat the same garbage. the food was not great but better than korea, but on the first floor of the re...

Re: regret

well they are also popular in korea right now (a few dudes at my office have them). there are just some things that i've bought lately that i'd like to try out with birks, but you are right. there is a reason i got rid of them, and probably the bigger regret is that i bought them in the first place ...

Re: The Lemones

Must be crazy to get a brand into such a position that customers are so willing to go out of their way to hunt for your underground shop. not exactly the same, but there are still extremely boutiques like this, which is kind of annoying. bodega, for example, appears to be an actual bodega from the ...

Re: feeltalk thread

maybe you just don't really like your friends. my relationships with the guys i hung out with in high school have gone through a lot of changes in the eight years since i graduated. also i don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to be alone and doing your own thing. it's essential for self-d...

Re: The Lemones

some initial john and sue undercover prices have been revealed. http://zozo.jp/_news/5180/5180.html prices are slightly higher than what i would have expected. t-shirts are 2,000 yen less than regular uc, sweaters are maybe 10,000 less. i guess it splits the difference between uu and mainline uc in ...

Re: feeltalk thread

when they were kids my dad tricked my uncle into eating a bunch of dirt after telling him that he could grow a watermelon in his stomach if he swallowed some seeds and then ate dirt and drank a bunch of water.

i mean, yeah, it looks fine but i'm probably not going to wear it that much. i guess i can stash it in the back of my closet or whatever but i'd prefer not to have clothing like that.

Re: Hot 2005 heisman candidates

you guys know who won the 2005 heisman? reggie bush, seen here with his then-girlfriend, a pre-kanye kim k. http://www4.pictures.fp.zimbio.com/Kim+Kardashian+Reggie+Bush+MGM+Grand+Pool+VP-kI_BKW-Il.jpg it seems unlikely that reggie ever made kim throw away half of her clothes or wear a dress made ou...

Re: homes, houses, and abodes

that bed looks like the bed that i used when i was a kid, with ralph lauren linens. the difference is that with raf and jun they at least make some normal looking clothes so it's not immediately obvious what they are wearing. though i guess if you were rick owens and you made the clothes he makes yo...

Re: homes, houses, and abodes

is that actually his house? it looks like it's an ad. there was a post once about designers who fully embrace their aesthetic and only wear their own stuff. i'm trying to remember who people were naming, but definitely thom, rick, hiroki, and yohji were mentioned. these pictures make me think that t...

Re: Hair

I've dropped into a stable hair routine. Every four weeks go on a wednesday night to the sort of overpriced barber, hopefully get the same girl again, ask for the sides to be trimmed with scissors to just above my ears and for hardly anything to be taken off the top. is this the girl who didn't kno...

Re: Desire Is Suffering

i think the french wardrobe works best if you are a person who likes buying clothes but you have some kind of external factor (college student, dependents) limiting the amount that you can spend in good conscience.

Re: Desire Is Suffering

buying things in person is, in the long-run, probably better for your wallet. as long as you can don't succumb to the pressures of the salespeople, it's so much better to touch and try on a garment. the number of times i've bought something sight unseen and been disappointed with it or had it not fi...
