Band merch is interesting to me not only because my daily outfit was a band tee + American Apparel hoodie, but because it also follows trends in a way fashion does. The kids who are wearing merch with serif font and black and white photographs, would have been wearing those ooze-and-monsters t-shirts of 2008. I'm mostly talking about -core/'scene' type bands, which of course need to follow the trends of the teens to get that merch $$$ so they can stay afloat.

Out of all of the band merch I've ever owned, this The Mars Volta track jacket (purchased during their tour in support of "The Bedlam in Goliath') is definitely the item closest to me:

Used to be super into hardcore in my high school days. Can't find a photo, but my favorite was an "Offsides" t-shirt that was basically the Minor Threat sheep shirt with a pink bow on the sheep as the band had a female vocalist.

Basically this but modified.

This Destroyer t-shirt is a pretty ideal combination of being for a cool, not totally obvious band and having a pretty nice, unobtrusive design. Might cop.
