does anyone know what kind of contract kanye had with adidas or what the general details were? ive heard him complain before that he has little to no control over how his products are priced and im worried that this is the case. of course if that is the case we should still be suspicious that he signed such a contract while preaching a commitment to proletariat pricing, but i'd be more sympathetic than if he had a say in this.

The yeezy collection was never going to be cheap, you don't see Our Legacy holding huge fashion week events, that shit is cray expensive. The sampling costs alone on that collection will have been huge and you can see that the clothes are not cheap to make. At the end of the day Kanye West is a businessman and from that perspective these prices make sense, it doesn't really look like there has been any effort to make this anything other than what it is. It will be interesting (or more likely very boring) to see what the reaction is and what happens with future collections. A Kanye West line at H&M prices does sound appealing, but I suppose you can say the same about almost any brand.

Our legacy doesn't do big fashun week presentations because our legacy is a pretty small brand with organic growth from being tiny to where they're at over a bunch of seasons. Our legacy will never sell as many shoes in its lifetime as adidas sells in like the next hour.

Adidas isn't going to price the target market of anything Kanye related completely out of this. The demo who can afford to spend that much does not give a fuck about Kanye or view adidas as a luxury brand. You can make nice ass clothes for 1/4 - 1/2 of those prices, especially when you're a massive company and get volume discounts at every step, and they'll sell exponentially more units in doing so.

Theres no way adidas would price this shit so high. Just from the manufacturing side, its not going to cost that much. YePC was cheaper than the prices one website is touting and APC does have anywhere near the size and scope of production networks that a multinational monstrosity like adidas does.
