Anyone own the fatigue olive reverse sateen pants sold at gentry? I want to get into eg and after getting some loose repro denim these seem like a good pair of pants that could work in a basic wardrobe

Presumably it's in black and white because it's an eyebleed collection with zero synergy between the pieces.

they've done an initial b&w release of the look book for the past few seasons, not sure why people are so caught off guard. looks real good to me, though.

^ Agreed. The black and white emphasizes the silhouettes nicely.

also, i totally lack self control and bought a grey andover off yjp.

fw outerwear > ss outwear though.

turns out it's the "quilted" andover from fw09. pretty excited to get it, 09 was a rad collection and the quilting should be great for winter. just crossing my fingers that it's not too puffy to be worn under a parka or something.

Woah woah woah woah woah.

Spring summer outerwear can be worn in the winter underneath another coat. Plus if it's a blazer it can be worn indoors year round. FW outerwear can't be worn in the summer and it can't be worn indoors unless you live and work in an ice cave.

For me it has to be spring summer outerwear

i agree, in part. my other fw eg jackets (wool serge andover, wool flannel hartford) aren't too heavy to be layered or worn inside. honestly, that's the biggest thing I don't like about the wool bedford i'm selling. it's a beautiful thick fabric but is more of a piece of outerwear than a mid layer.

this is why i sold the shawl robe thing that everyone loved. too scratchy and hot to wear around the house in a luxe lounging kind of way, and yet because of the flare it only looked good (on me) open, so pretty much pointless in genuine cold weather conditions. also worse than useless in the rain.

glad you're enjoying it, i can imagine it fitting in well with your style. perhaps london is too temperate for heavy layers like that, it rarely gets below freezing here. i'm a very sensitive flower when it comes to scratchiness which was probably the deciding factor

x-posting from WAYWT.

Came across this Engineered Garments Nail Apron. Holler . Think its a cool layering piece, gives me tons of pockets, kind of looks just like a vest when under a jacket. It's kind of an odd length tho.

Xpost from the collars thread. Boring work fit/potato camera. On the bedford it says cold wash and dry clean. Any preferred method of care?

any clothes i care about i just handwash cold and hang dry (or lay flat if wool/cashmere). rare to find a dry cleaner who knows what they are doing

I think for everything EG is known for, graphic T's would be dead last if it wasn't for their random CYC made sweat stuff.

new purchase, cotton ripstop bedford. i've never nerded out about EG but i am starting to appreciate what they do more and more. on this jacket the weave gives it a very artisanal feel, and a nice depth of colour.

I just bought some eg workaday jeans and I'm eagerly waiting for them to arrive. I guess it's kind of late for this, but has anyone owned any EG denim before? Thoughts/opinions?

I fell in love with this to the point that I'm almost willing to pay retail for it. This has been exacerbated by the fact that it's pretty much sold out everywhere (including every jp stockist I've checked). I only know of one stockist that has it in my size (S), and they've marked it up quite a bit. What's my best bet for getting one of these? I found one on y!jp, but it's too small :(
