Yes they stock names, I doubt they select anything with coherence in mind. Anyway I find all the usual department stores pretty boring for men (harrod's, selfridges, harvey nichols, liberty). But I guess they stock what sells.

yes the shirt is navy, which goes with black pants.

So I haven't bought pink shoes yet, but I found some more really compelling options. (Thanks for showing me the vans)

Couple of things. Where should I look for burgundy oxfords or derbies? Dr. Martens don't fit me. Would also be interested in tan suede as well.

Any chukkas/desert boots similar to Allen Edmonds Gobis?

The more casual the better (no toe caps or broguing).

So I'm trying to find something I can wear everyday in Spring and that I don't have to change out of to go to the gym. I spend a lot of time walking on a huge campus and would have to carry my gym clothes with me if I'm not already dressed in them. I'm typically against John Elliott but it seems their sweats and hoodies are my best bet. I don't like the shape of Nike Tech Fleeces, too loose up top. Are there any other decently looking sweatpants/trackpants or shorts?

Maybe not the right topic but I'm looking for a very specific item from dries from SS16

It's a pair of trousers
Cut: peeler
Fabric code: 1345 (black)
And in size 46

Called the Antwerp store they only have it in navy, and sold out in Paris flagship store.

Tried several online stores (selfridges, liberty, autograph, browns, le bon marche, galleries lafayette, totokaelo, l'inde le palais) but couldn't find it.

Any idea of shops (including brick&mortar) where I could be lucky?

Other stores that come to mind as Dries menswear stockists: Stijl (Brussels), Rewind (Ghent), Andreas Murkudis (Berlin), Lane Crawford (Hong Kong), The Corner, END.

After checking again and again, only place I found it is Movie Gang in Japan, Okazaki.

They don't ship internationally as usual, but it seems they don't ship at all even within Japan.
do you know this shop?

Michael's are the best paraboots by far

Get a Vass ripoff on them instead. The norvogese welt is too perfect for the shape

Looking at this AW14 Dries suit but the shoulder measurement, 43.5 cm for 52, is really really slim. Is this how Dries suits are cut, do they fit bigger because of the roped shoulder cut? The measurements look like a regular 48/50. Would it be impossible to widen the shoulders?

all the dries tailoring i've tried is very slim around the shoulders/upper arms. if you're quite built up around that area his stuff might not be for you (or you need to size up, but then there might be problems elsewhere..)
you definitely can't widen the shoulders- indeed many tailors have told me that although it's technically possible to make them narrower it hardly ever works, so shoulders are the most important thing to look at when you buy anything.

Got around to a bit of spring cleaning including going through my wardrobe and getting rid of the stuff and kind of assessing what I have and where I'd like it to go.
Things I could do with in order of highest to lowest priority: coat upgrade, sandals, casual button shirts, replacement sweats/knits, cool vest, cool tee, a casual jacket or blazer, backpack, funky socks, maybe some more winter accessories and boots.

Baby steps though. Starting with coat considerations:

Sandals:

I'm having such a hard time finding shorts and a jacket. I want some 5" running shorts, and I was looking at this jacket, http://shop.hellyhansen.com/ca-en/item/ ... t_type=cat I tried it on and it's almost perfect except the collar is like having a PFD around your neck. Any recommendations??
