[continuing previous page discussion] I'm looking for a "change-my-view" here, because I don't understand:

Why is Urban Outfitters selling Joy Division imagery 'lame' but Undercover selling Joy Division imagery (at 5-10x the price that Urban Outfitters would) 'cool'?

UO is very slow to hop on most things so by the time they get to it its usually on its last legs and the people who made it cool have moved on.

if UC had never done anything unknown pleasures related until now and then for ss15 put out a bunch of stuff with the cover art on it it would be poorly received by most.

When did UC start doing Joy Division stuff? I remember seeing Joy Division shirts at UO when I was first getting into clothes when I was about 14 (so five years ago).

maybe i'm 100% wrong but i was under the impression uo brought back all the joy division shit post uc doing it and it getting massively overdone.

The fact that waists can be vanity sized is pretty annoying, I know men have it easier than woman in this but it would be really ace if waist measurement was like... something consistent... if they're going to do it in numbers.

uc did the unknown pleasure prints/knits in a/w 2009 earmuff maniac. raf of course also did it, much earlier, in a/w 2003 closer.

Is oki-ni going downhill? They feel like a less homely Totokaelo to me.

I can't pull up a link right now because I'm on mobile but Oki-ni has had some exceptionally poor buys recently (hairy Ramones being one of the more standout memories) and has been performing accordingly - recently, someone in a high-up position was replaced.

Do we have some kind of evidence that oki ni is doing badly? Like webstats or a financial statement?

I'm not saying its not, but it feels at about the same level its always been. The only difference now is more people (read, we) know about it and now its less cool ergo its doing less well?

also real quick im not trying to defend oki ni im just wondering if we're talking about when we say a website has "fallen off". what is "falling off"? How do we measure "falling off-ness". etc.

The only way I can show you what type of brands asos used to carry is through this link where selectism used to post items they were interested in. By the way my reference to oki-ni was only regards to the brands they stock before they used to sell very indie brands and it seems like they shifted it all to LN-CC and left the mainstream stuff at oki-ni.
