I need to sell my ray bans, and get some cool normal glasses and sunglasses. Probably going to cost a fortune to shrink my lenses down but I guess I'll pay it.

Has anyone ever made their own glasses? As in, bespoke? I have a design for what I believe are the coolest looking, wearable specs, but I'm wary of price.

if you're a baller you can go to the and get the same glasses as YSL. the prices depend on the materials used on the frame.
google says:
850-1150€ for acetate
1200-1500€ for buffalo horn
3500-30000€ (yeah) for tortoise shell

When choosing your glasses you've got to consider how many species were driven to extinction in their construction

I am not a baller, and I would never buy those animal products, yeesh.
I know a place in the UK that uses vegetable acetate, I think I might give them a call next week. I've already done all the cadding - I wish I had the machine I'd just make them my damn self.

I have a pair of crystal moscot mitzens. pictured on not-me below:
I like them. They do get a few really odd comments every now and then - like I've been asked why I was wearing steampunk goggles and that. few john lennon jokes as well. so it goes.

New old glasses for 2014. 2013 was a year of several spectacle casualties. RIP Cutler and Gross, Cazal, Albert Nippon, Sillouhette.

try a pair with a frame closer to your eyebrows so that your eyes are in the center

Actually I lied.
I designed some this summer already. KT and I are going to refine them then take them to be made either this month or next. Costs on handmade spectacles in the UK are high though so not sure how many we'd make to sell (then again, not as high as many brands sell non handmade). Maybe 3? Anyone interested in new specs email and I'll send over our initial pre production CAD this week. Otherwise I'll for sure document the process on the site.
