Showing AW season is almost done - we have a couple of days in a private showroom here in London and then we close order suuuuuper early.

Here's the invite we send out to buyers with a little sneak peak of the collection in the form of a freshly ferment dyed thing on the floor. Some of you might have seen a different invite with a Tokyo date but we cancelled it because it was way too late in the season for us to take orders.

Alright - here it is! Our SS17 collection. We've been working on parts of this for years so its a huge deal for us to actually have it - its a strange thing to have your work so hidden. The cord took years to make something so plush, light and thick - the striped shirts are made of two breeds of cotton and contain no dyes and we even have fabric woven on completely solar powered looms!

You guys are seeing it first - share share share. Press is all well and good but its nowhere near as satisfying as seeing people share and talk about our media. There's an especially handsome model in this lookbook, which apes stock photography.

Here's the collection blurb.

For SS17 STORY pays tribute to our biome - bacteria, yeasts and all the microbes that dye our clothes, ferment our food, live in our guts and make our lives more positive.

We honour the Oceanobacillus strain that helps ferment the natural indigo we dye with (as well as a host of other microbes) through batik prints, embroidery and natural dyes. Our fits are unisex and vintage-inspired, our fabrics are textural and unique, and our mission is a more sustainable approach to fashion.

This season features extra chunky organic cotton corduroy dyed with fermented indigo, tree bark and plant roots, alongside lightweight fabrics that are woven with solar powered looms. We are also exploring naturally coloured fibres - our striped brown and ecru shirting has no dyes at all - just different, rare cottons.

As always, everything is Positive and Slow Made.

when can we expect to see more photos of the pieces that Hetty Douglas painted for you guys and previewed on her Instagram? I love her work and am super excited to see the finished pieces! The Time Jacket that she posted looks beautiful.

How did that collaboration come about? Did you meet her through her Art or at Supreme London/some kind of secret London fashion cool kids meeting?

Sorry it took so long to reply.

We 'met' in Instagram and struck up conversation there - then we met IRL for a coffee and got to work. The pieces are AMAZING quite frankly and we have a deal to sell them through a store in London and have an opening party etc but its just all a bit hectic now so we haven't nailed it down.

Thank you for posting - this season was so much fun (and frustration) to put together but it came out lovely. Sam and Katy styled the whole shoot and she said several times since that she felt like they were both thinking the same thing the whole time - which made the day (shooting 12 people, several times (including two sets of 'twins')) run super smooth.

SS17 "BEST AFTER" drops in the next few weeks and AW17 "PROPHET 17" orders close around the same time. SS18, tentatively named "EARTHSHINE!" (which will explains what the mysterious artefact Liliana found was about) is underway...

Is anyone going to the sample sale on Friday/Saturday?

Everyone annoyed that the outlet is only IRL, I know, I'm sorry - I'd be annoyed too. Everything we are taking is odds, ends and samples so photographing, writing descriptions, measuring and throwing them online is nigh on impossible. We don't have a good way to photograph in-house so try as we might they'd look crappy. Believe it or not - it took us THREE days to prepare and write up just Prophet 17 for the site (four with photography) and there's probably hundreds of bits we're taking to the shop (including ends of fabrics and knick-knacks). We also had a situation last month where someone bought quite a lot of archive pieces and returned them via extremely snail-paced-mail leaving us out of product and pocket on all of them so I'm trying to avoid that too.

Plus, we're bringing a lot of ceramics which, despite wanting to for a long long time, we just can't send in the mail.

I'm going to go when it opens on friday as that is literally the only time I can go, and I can't hang around too long but if anyone wants to care-meet in the evening after 7 for a bit I will be around central
