Been seeing way too many people with janky granny shoelace knots.

I start a job with a business casual dress code soon. It's a conservative company and the employees aren't very "fashion." I obviously can't stick to my regular style...I guess I just want to fit in? I went shopping today for work clothing and realized that even J.Crew/Banana Republic would be out of sync with the rest of the company. In an ideal world I'd be wearing sheath dresses, blazers, and heels, but most women wear cardigans, khakis, and flats. Blahhhh this isn't a client facing job so appearance isn't super important, but I don't want to stand out because of what I wear.

Is there a work appropriate clothing thread?

He uses it to move things from place to place. He's open about the fact that he's already been quite successful.

All that winning the lvmh prize means is that lvmh thinks you have a scalable (read: profitable) label.

Faustine probably meets all the qualitative criteria but she's not particularly scalable. Wouldn't be surprised if Virgil wins. Wouldn't be surprised if one of the designers no one is talking about wins.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised at all if Virgil won, it might not appeal to c-t's demographic but Pyrex/Off-White are super popular. $100 screenprinted champion blanks put him on the map, in a twisted way that's a serious achievement

it might be a hard pill to swallow but there are times when artistic integrity takes a back seat to profitability, even in high fashion

besides, Virgil has branched out from basic screenprinting to some extent, his women's designs are a lot stronger than his men's stuff and *artsy-fartsy high fashion* is growing more and more popular with the rapper set, so off-white and yeezy x adidas might become more like OG Lang/archive Raf and less Diamond Supply Co.

virgil abloh is extremely talented, i have no idea what the competition is like but just because he doesn't fit into your paradigm of what contemporary or 'authentic' fashion is doesn't mean he's there by chance.

I refuse to believe Raf doesn't personally design every Raf x Fred season.

Dunno where else to post this but look at this sick as hell white mountaineering x barbour blazer coat? It's dope. Felt tanky but that barbour oiled material feels wicked gross. Dunno why people wear it. Does it break in or something? Also I hate barbour but you know whatevs.
