Been watching The Wire recently and noticed in season 2 McNulty had this sweet fitting moto jacket. I think throughout the show I've seen him wear maybe 5 or 6 different leathers but every time he wore this one i was like 'damn'.

idk thought it was cool

Also I saw this piece on grailed and I feel like if someone told me about a double rider styled into a blazer I wouldn't be too interested but I really love the piece, at least in this picture. CDG Homme Plus SS 2012, apparently

fresher's week just ended and what the yoof are doing at different ££ levels is really fascinating to me. pribants vs bantstique vs bantelier (there's some intermediate high street in there but I can't get bants to fit into it)

Versace really matters to these people. I feel so old

do yalls think clothing or fashion is something that progresses? i was thinking about technology and art (modernism and earlier) and how innovation and progress push them forward. can you say some designers create clothing objectively better every other season or that new pieces begin to do and be more useful than their predecessor over time? where is the "we made the wool 22% more comfy and warm this season"? is there something more than just different silhouettes and fabrics? does it even make sense to try and relate the iphone 4 vs iphone 5 to fw12 vs fw14? are they even in the same realm of "innovation"?

this probably makes no sense lol. i'm trying to relate how much better the new mustang is compared to the old ones while sitting on ebay looking at a vintage german army parka like damn 4 internal pockets and faux fur liner, need this for the winter.

fashion theory 101

Can't imagine how sad johnjax is about vans MTE not being vegan. Probably needs that Supreme towel to mop up his tears.

i know you shouldn't get frustrated at fashion since it's a hobby, but sometimes it's so difficult. i'm terrible at drawing, singing, writing (unless factual), etc. and fashion is a way to express myself as i'm sure it is for most of us here. i get so many ideas that i wanna apply to real life, but a lot of the time i don't have the garments required. especially when it comes to wanting to change your style in minute ways.

i dress the way i dress for me, but when people look at me i want them to know i chose every detail on purpose to let them know "this is me! this is how i choose to express my feelings and personality!". and sometimes it's tough when you're not expressing yourself the exact way you want

Drawing singing and writing are all learnable skills. You are not terrible at them.

The reality is that it's a lot easier to press add to cart than it is to actually get up and learn something. I love fashion and personal style but i dont consider it a hobby.

Maybe not buying clothes, but reading/learning/talking about clothes and designers and fashion seems pretty solidly in hobby territory to me.
