I wonder how many people spent their rent on yeezy season 1 and are now frantically trying to flip it before the 1st.

Yeezy 'season one' (and everything else he touches) is abysmal

Overpriced, overhyped, bland garbage. Basic camo patterns selling for sheets. Mundane, uninspired designs. Overly contrived made up colourways such as 'cognac' - respect to the man for pulling the wool over so many's eyes

Those boots  >£500 for something that looks like a doorstopper

Honestly don't understand how people lap it up.

can the fashion world collectively stop using the word 'iconic' for about a year so we can reevaluate what it means

Discourse is not the majestically unfolding manifestation of a thinking, knowing, speaking subject, but, on the contrary, a totality, in which the dispersion of the subject and his discontinuity with himself may be determined.

i want to make a brand dedicated to incredibly obvious knockoffs of famous brands all styled together

the best part is you wouldn't even need manufacturing outside of a tag -- buy everything off alibaba and stitch your own brand into it

I must stop deluding myself that I am suited for the "SLP aesthetic" because I am tall, skinny and I like music. It seems like what I need is some EG, Dana and a pair of 70's chucks.
While the Parisian style looks cool and nonchalant in photos, skinny jeans and chelseas aren't too good for stomping around in Amish County, PA.

zara could make water trash look good in an editorial format tho, fwiw I've sent everything I ever ordered back except for one shacket whose zipper broke in 2 wears

free ship free return so you can always try, but don't expect it to look like it does in their photos

I've talked to rosenrot about zara before and she speaks relatively highly of it, at least the basics like shirting

There's a shirt I want and she's been telling me it'd probably be a good buy, I've only ever gotten sweatpants from them before and the quality wasn't too good but it was about what I'd expect for the price, so idk

Just wish the nearest store wasn't in Atlanta so I could just go check

Zara probably has a zillion billion suppliers so there is never going to be a last word on overall quality. Suck it and see.

I will say that their photography always makes the stuff look a lot better than it actually is.

i am ashamed to admit i have lined up for h&m collabs (the margiela one was incredible so leave me alone)

however, the line at my local h&m for balmain was so much longer at 6PM today than when i got in line at 4AM last year for alexander wang
PLUS there is a 3 day window to return items for a complete refund, so flippers will be flipping themselves silly for the next 72 hours

what a weird world

what're your favorite texts that discuss ethical and unethical clothing creation?

Some background: I'm going to be writing a paper for my AP Seminar class (junior year of HS). I have to choose a research question and a particular lens to view the consequences of it, both positive and negative.

I know ethical clothing construction is a semi-popular topic on those interested into fashion, particularly care-tags and other more "advanced" forums. So, I'd like to ask. What are your favorite articles and texts that talk about unethical and ethical clothing creation (and the like). I'd like to focus mainly on clothing but any good writes about sweatshops and such would be appreciated.

For anyone wondering, my specific question will be "Is ethical clothing creation realistic for both merchants and consumers?". I plan on talking about it from an ethical lens.

any suggestions for my question, essay or texts would be appreciated. Cheers

I was fond of this pro-sweatshop argument... take it with a grain of salt though, dude is pretty clearly into making money, though he also has a PhD so he's not some random schmuck either.

People use the word 'comfortable' too loosely. Every shoe with an EVA or crepe sole is suuuuper comfortable xD - we need more tangible descriptions of the comfort of a shoe. Internet discussions of comfort should be a burgeoning source of qualitative data.
