I've made a couple of updates over the last few months to the outfit I've been wearing almost every day. Same shirt jacket thing/t-shirt, but new jeans and boots (it's kind of getting too cold for Birks all the time). I've had the jeans for like two months and really really love them. High waist is nice for my weird body shape, plenty of room in the legs but still tapered which I enjoy, and the weird back pockets are fun even though they're not super practical. I haven't had the boots long but I can tell that they're going to work well as an everyday beater shoe for the fall/winter. I want to add an outer layer to this outfit but I haven't really decided what it should be yet.

they're a weird rounded L shape that is kind of shallow and in practice leaves part of your phone/wallet exposed which is not practical for how often I'm walking around in like the public sphere but I always carry a bag so it's not really a big deal. Here's a pic from their website too. (smiling)


totally, I usually keep my phone in my bag (almost always carry one), but for when I rarely go somewhere without I've had to become a front-pocket-phone-person which I don't totally love. I have literally no ass so I like that these almost create an illusion of one for me but I also sized v conservatively.

(tbh if unfortunate life circumstances force you to take the bela approach they can come up on british ebay for very little. i'd recommend looking for something that says 'brandelli era' -ie when carlo brandelli was uh 'creative director' in the late 90s-early 2000s, before that i think they had a lot of weird franchise deals. also, took me a while to realise that if you iron out the crease you get a much more satisfactory pool)
