get past the clickbait title and there's some great visuals and production value

Looks lovely that knit does.

DressedUndressed AW16

Seems like a bit of a 'What can we take from the European designers? I know! All of it!'

I still like it though

Christian Dada is really good. Usually overpriced but good. It's usually paired with Dressed/Undressed, another brand that came out of Harajuku at about the same time

shout out to Issey Miyake for receiving top honors for his contributions to French fashion. 77 years old and still on top

Some 2016 offerings from Toga Virilis, love some of the graphics and patterns in these, its like a Japanese Marni.

haha thanks for keeping the thread alive. I have been way too lazy for a proper update. Toga is good but overpriced, the Marni comparison is pretty apt. I was disappointed to see some of their stuff MIC despite the huge price tag. Also they do a couple popular women's lines.

Sou-Mu

Real pain getting pictures of their collections off the internet. They have all of the images on their site but it's lightboxed and you'd have to prnt scrn each one and crop and reupload...... Fashionsnap has some but their domain seems to shift sometimes and break image links. Anyways Sou-Mu does some great drapey stuff, really innovative bizarre pieces. A lot of their clothes are pretty free-sized and genderless (though they do cut some pieces with body types in mind). I have an amazing thing from them that can be worn in a massive variety of ways, it'd kind of a vest, kind of nothing in particular. Great thing though. A store near me stocks them with similar amazing brands like Balmung, Design Complicity, Dr. Franken, and more.

Yeah I'm into Bed J.W. Ford at the moment (is it just pronounced "Bedford" ?). FW16 looks really great - love the suede pieces and that knit (hnnnng)

I have a kimono sleeve tee on the way...(in burgundy)

yep just called Bedford usually. Great label. Love their High Times suit

They do some really cool twists on staple items (wide shirts, weird pants, etc.) and pair really well with brands like Sunsea and Uru

WHOWHAT

Image

Whowhat is a unisex clothing brand heavily inspired by the clothing of India and the middle East, with plenty of nods to traditional Japanese clothes and craftsmanship. A lot of drapey, loose silhouettes with subtle details to ensure that the focus is on the silhouette more than the clothes. Nearly everything is cut quite large (besides the jeans), and smaller people can buy smaller sizes to make sure it's not too huge. There's a lot of fun proportions play to be had with the label, as each collection contains cropped pants, shorts, long shirts, extended jackets, flowy coats, slim jeans, accessories, and more. All of the fabrics are crazy nice, and the reconstructed jeans are a particularly cool item. Too small for me but still neat. The complete Whowhat 'look' has been one of my favorites for a while.
