How waterproof do people reckon these JP x Hancock mids are going to be? Is "Rubberised cotton" going to suck bad in a sneaker? Why doesn't everyone make everything out of Ventile if it's so great?

If they were cheaper I'd give them a go but my instinct is that wearing rubberised cotton on a closed garment like a shoe is like wearing rubber (hot and sweaty) couple with cotton (usually breathable but holds on to smell).

They sold out in minutes. Really small buy/production.

Did think I wanted them, but then actually - do I? They aren't as convincing as I convinced myself they were at first. Ventile is the new Harris Tweed.
