I love these beige chukkas. Wish regular Vans chukkas came in such nice colors

Not sure this really fits here, but I trust you dudes on products and its sorta fashion related.

Good journal? Don't want something tiny (like field notes) but nothing too big either (not 8x11). Solidly bound with nice paper. Leather exterior would be sweet but not too picky there. Will be traveling lots with it, so some sort of durability would be nice. Any ideas?

I think this is the best I'll find as far as materials, design, and color. The leather looks soft, it's got a good shape, the zipper is a big plus, and it's got more visual "oomph" than black achilles mids.

Thinking about some Old Skool's: http://shop.vans.com/catalog/Vans/en_US ... skool.html

Should I go with the classic black/white? The all black is kinda cool. Suggestions welcome

I've wanted postmans for quite some time now just cause I'm lacking a simple black everyday shoe that isn't a pair of sneakers. Had planned on buying some this coming fall, but now that I've seen the beams suede version I have no idea what I want.

Also I've never done proxy service from japan so I have no idea if it's even feasible cost-wise.

Edit: maj droppin knowledge. probably gonna go with the og's

i just picked up my pair of second narrow j-cut jeans. nothing to write home about. similar cut to zb dna jeans. mid-rise with a slim leg all the way through. not much of a taper so while the cut lends to more stacks, the leg opening doesn't allow for good looking stacks. dwr coating which should be interesting since i live in vancouver where it rains every other day. 13.75oz rope-dyed denim with no selvage line but not a big deal. plain and simple buttons. 6oz black cotton pocket bags. poly care tag. quick fit pic:

full album here: http://imgur.com/a/nBc0Q

EDIT: just tested the dwr coating with a spray bottle. it sucks. water beads off for about half a second but a continuous flow soaked through the denim. well this was just unfortunate. these just became my beater jeans.

Replica of a '70s jacket from Prague apparently. A double breasted light grey jacket is certainly not something I need but this is gorgeous and so cheap, my impulse purchase hormones are firing here.

Seems it can be worn closed up too:

Picked up this wtaps shirt. GF thinks it makes me look fat and is not a fan. Opinions and ideas of what to wear it with and how to wear it other than a grey crewneck tee + jeans? (v-neck shown in pic because all my crews are dirty)

Haha, you're like the last person I would have expected to do that. Get it at darkside?

Don't think it's making you look fat but I think it fits you a lot more slimly than it would probably be intended to.

I have a very similar thing from maiden and I usually wear it with a merz army tee, caramel gios, grey sneakers (will most likely post this fit when I get home) or with cargos , or under a shell, or under my down vest, etc.

Haha yeah darkside. My workplace is t-shirts and hoodies, so I've been finding myself dressing a lot more casually day to day. Wtaps has really been growing on me although I should probably just hit up a surplus store and save myself some money.

considering either one of these for summer. I think i like the fit of the first one better but the second is a linen blend and is to be really nice for the spring weather already here in LA

obvos #1, those second ones are gross, misshapen CDB's and thin soles always creep me out. put a brick or white sole on the first ones and u got a winner

I've been thinking about buying a pair of shoes like these COS ones:

Does anybody know if COS shoes are any good? And if they're not that great, are there any alternatives?
I know that there are the CP crepe derbies which are similar, but they are a bit too shiny for my taste and I dislike the golden branding on them.

cos shoes start to look pretty shitty really fast from my experience, i had a set of boots and they were ok for what i paid but after 5 wears they looked mad creased and the leather was pretty shitty and i can only imagine that being more apparent on derbies. as for alternatives i'm pretty sure there most the ones i could recommend have a white soles however i do remember trickers doing a crepe sole lot for tres bien and norse at some point.

COS leather is like cardboard, don't waste yer money unless there's really no alternatives. Check out Trickers, Grenson, Churchs, other english brands, etc. Public School maybe an option. Browse the derby sections of retailers like Mr. P, The Corner, whatever.

Thanks for the responses (smiling)

I'll probably get to check them out in store this weekend, but I'll take a careful look at them then.
I think it might be best if I save up for something like ; I'll definitely will look at all your suggestions before doing anything.
