think im gonna cut up some of my dads old shirts and enlist mom to put locker loops on a couple of my more rugged button ups that lack them.

I actually use my locker loops when I'm at the gym and it's great.

The Noragi Project

After bela's suggestion, I thought it would be really nice to make a noragi with my grandma (who was a seamstress) before I left for school. I struggle with being verbose, so here's some pictures.

what is it made out of? how long did it take you to make? where did you find the patterns?

It's actually just a chino fabric like hiroki does. It worked pretty well, it's got some weight to it.

Took about a week but only because my grandma is so good at making clothes haha!

The patterns were in a book (first two pics) that she had. It was entirely in Japanese so I have no idea what it was or where it was from. But it's pretty much a kimono but cropped to waist length and visvim made it a modern design my slimming the sleeves to more of a shirt-like width. My grandma really dislikes that change lol. She laughed when I told her that vis noragis go for $800 because (she said) farmers back in the day would pay next to nothing for them! Lol. Grandmas on the vis hate train.

sknss, anyone in america with access to a goodwill/savers/etc could easily pick up as many plaid flannel shirts as you want for about 2-3$ a pop. let me know if you want
