(cheers for the links for real though!)

How would you all make an outfit with something like the below pictures? It seems to fit into the whole americana/work wear type thing with the canvas/corduroy.

I've having a tough time finding a pair of cool sneakers to wear with my work trousers. I wanted Ozweego 2s but they're hard to find in my size and in good condition. Not into Salomons, Nike Reacts, or any kind of plain tennis shoe sneaker. I thought long and hard about Prada Mechanos but they're actually ugly. The next option is Ozweego Replicants but they're just sandals. Where have all the cool sneakers gone?

Its a bit over 100 but the KLÄTTERMUSEN Fimmafang 3.0 is what I've been using for months and completely worth the dosh. Theres a smaller one which is cheaper but the big one is the winner.

How often do stockx bids fall through because the item didn't pass inspection? I'm one for one thus far.

was it skate culture that brought back wide legged pants? Curious if I'm a poser or not

no. remember like 7 years ago when skaters all wore skinny jeans? "skate culture" is just as affected by broader trends as any other subculture.

Bearing in mind baggy trousers among younger demographics came 'back' firstly with Dickies, I think it's fair to say skate culture was a pretty significant factor there - not saying there weren't others, but saying outright 'no' is wrong imo.

That’s the impression I got as well. Though I first noticed it when reading Japanese fashion magazines from several years ago. It was also way more mainstream (and less unique to skate culture) in Japan when I went. So was it skateboarding culture in the US that influenced Japanese fashion or vice versa? Or did they develop simultaneously or is there another influence I haven’t noticed?

Nothing and no-one is above trends. Without doing any research i would put strong money on skateboarders (teenage boys?) just wearing whatever was cool at the time, rather than being the progenitors of a unique lqqk that spread into the mainstream.

i mean even outside of any trend or "skate culture" discussion $20 pants that are available at any hardware store, can be styled in a bunch of ways and are available in a bunch of fits/colors is a pretty easy sell to most people

It's wild that you guys think that trends happen organically after spending like five years on fashion forums. I reckon Dickies probably just hired some hydrating marketing consultant back in the noughties and they put together a roadmap that they executed on.
Big Baggy Jesus was a psyop.
