when people buy the same shit as me i get pissed, like fiery-red-hot-strangle-a-baby anger. it's totally irrational.

one of my friends bought the same (shitty cheap) jacket as me and i started wearing it every time we hung out just to assert dominance

i think i have problems

Other Shop is my fave store in the UK!

Really nice guys and some of the most exciting stock. OL, Lemaire, Craig Green, Etudes, Haik, Schneider, Ian Batten etc. I also love their own line of stuff. It's really well made and usually interesting cuts ..., and the price point is not bad considering (made in the UK in small numbers). I have two pairs of trousers, a shirt and a top. Their Edward trousers from this season are a great fit. Flecked salt / pepper ones are really nice.

always a good feeling when you've got more fresh outfit ideas then there are days in the week, especially when they incorporate the lesser worn items in your drobe.

My Ikea Gurli throw has such a nice texture I'm very tempted to stop using it as a throw and cut it up and make some clothes instead. I regret not picking up more when I had the chance and now I'm thinking of buying another one online.

So I really can't find any shirts/outwear/sweaters that fit me well at all, Mostly because i'm very skinny (6'2 130 ish?) so I took some rough measurements:

Pit to Pit: 16.5"
Shoulder to Shoulder: 14.5"
Sleeve Length: 25"
Back: 23"

This sucks cause my new Adidas SLVR bomber is really really nice but too big for me (pictured in my latest fit, will be returning) and size S from most places will be too big, while XS will be too short on the sleeves/torso. Shit skinny jeans aren't even skinny they're more of a slim fit. The struggle is unreal.

Clothes are overrated though r-right?

P.S Thanks for the feedback on my fit guys :^). 2.0 will be better I promise.

I'm starting to care less and less about what I wear. I can't even remember the last time I visited a fashion blog and I haven't been following any of the new collections.

I probably shouldn't be on this board anymore. On the plus side, I will suddenly have a lot of money.

a line of thought i've been following since a conversation w a co-worker about different style capitals.

the dominant style in NYC is extremely conservative, almost homogeneous. everyone here wears a restrained wool coat, slim trousers, and shoes. minimal branding, very modern styling, no risks taken. women wear the same thing but with black tights and running shoes, or ankle boots. guys are in trainers or boots.

london's style is obviously much more eccentric, garish, and out there-- if i'm to believe germinal that people actual wear Mazhar, anderson, rafdidas etc. it feels flashier, younger, a little dirtier, and much more open to new ideas and expressions.

if we are to believe that Pitti is real, Milan and Florence seem to follow two main directives, the first is luxurious detail spent on fabric and make-- there are no Cav Empts, Astrids or Jacquemus' putting low quality but well styled garments out. only the highest suiting wools, cashmere topcoats, etc. the second bit of information is about how Italian style mixes casual garments with formal, famously dressing up jeans of every wash, wearing pleated pants with Roshe's, whatever. the tradition of mens tailoring is strong here, while londo is destroying it. I would love to know how trendy women dress in Italy

What's good w paris? "Parisian Chic" surely means something to us all, but i'm having a hard time describing it. it seems closer to NY than anything else, altho I would guess the urban/poor youth culture is probably closer to london for obvious reasons than NYC. there is an obvious foil in MIlan-- i assume for every dude wearing peak lapels in italy there is a man in paris wearing faded jeans and all courts. I still feel like there is something i'm missing here.

scando fashion seems wildly uninvestigated for all the influence its had in the last 10 years. it's confusing still because it seems like the foundation for modern scando fashion is probably found somewhere in the last 100 years of American culture-- correct me if i'm wrong, but the basic elements of this style seem to be workboots, raw denim, chinos, etc. the thick knits are obviously their own.

i dont know what's going on in Asia, it seems like all bets are off (unless you're poor, in which case fuck you)

with the emphasis on status and apparent/actual wealth in much of asia, i'd say there's a heavy influence on luxury brands. lv/prada/fendi/chanel etc are the big hitters but now there's this new wave of designers (not necessarily new but i struggle to find a proper way to word this) that have made their way onto big celebs (ex. rick, raf, balenciaga, hba, thom) that have redefined what this image of wealth is

re: asian fashion there just seems to be such an abundance of subcultures and brands/designers within those subcultures that keeping up with whatever's "cool" or on the up and up seems like a chore. is there an inherent benefit with knowing what is "cool" nowadays? I was reading a similar discussion elsewhere regarding lad musician and how it's apparently old news in japan, making way christian dada, dressedundressed etc

where do you stand on being "in the know" and staying on top of current trends vs. being satisfied with how you dress now? i think there is this negative stigma placed on being a "trend follower" but is it so inherently wrong?

if this doesnt make any sense excuse me i've been on cold meds since this morning ┐(´-`)┌

Man I really need a job, hopefully I can get one over the summer. I think I know where I want to go with my wardrobe now, but I need some more money to buy some of the pieces I want. A lot of them can wait though, since there's a lot of f/w pieces I would like, but I live in Texas so it's probably gonna stop being cold in a week or two. I might have to rely on eBay and other marketplaces to get some of the stuff I want, like black a pair of Diemme Roccia Vet Boots, and I've never done anything like that so I'm still unsure about it.

the double lined pockets and stacking on my DBxSExSxS jeans set off the body scanner at the airport. the tsa dude just kept groping my pocket bags while i told him "there's nothing there, it's just thick pockets" and then he wanded me for explosives because he wasn't listening. the range in motion on these things is enough to take stairs three at a time but not enough to hop in some gigantic dodge ram, it's embarrassing.

i just got into kka and now i want one of the coats from 13 a/w. i know that type of coat is hype train right now, but i really don't care that a lot of people have that style coat because it looks awesome.

i'm really liking what i saw for the new s/s collection from them as well
