Best part about Transformers 4 (yeah, I knew what I was getting into) was Stanley Tucci / Joshua Joyce wearing all Tom Ford.

Loose clothing is the best thing since slim-fit clothing

Yo I think Jack Wills footwear is made in england??

I thought it was Sanders but apparently it's a company called NPS who owns Solovair.

No sole shot on this one, but if it's also made in england it could be a good deal for some derby hunter:

That said, 100% leather doesn't inspire confidence so who knows. Someone should feel some up in store. (Not me, I'll die if I go into a Jack Wills)

I wonder how long I'll have to keep these velcro stans a secret from my loved ones. I don't think they're ready yet.

People ask me, they say "Bela, why do you always try and link people to deals on black derbies?"

And the reason is thet derbies rule. How people who don't own derbies get dressed in the morning is beyond me.

I couldn't function without derbies, they're truly the master-shoe.

My OL sale order arrived... linen pullover is great (very roomy! "i love loose clothing!!" etc). Six shirt is too small. Don't size down on the six shirts (like i was told)! Have to back this to Sweden now, smh.... fabric is very cool tho.

Speaking of OL... the AW lookbook has appeared. I was hoping to be be able to see more of the items but honestly this is the kind of half piss take of a lookbook i expect from OL these days and i say that in the best possible way. Can't wait for this to drop!!! They're just getting better and better.

I think it's easy to be sentimental about old lncc but to be fair they made some pretty bad buys and nearly went out of business because most people didn't want to pay 2 grand for a yohji zebra skirt or whatever.

Presumably they came to the completely unsurprising realisation that their customers (middle East, China, etc) were more concerned with traditional fashion houses than furry rick boots

For the past year or so I've been planning on revamping my wardrobe with nicer stuff, but after going to the mall the other day, I realized that the best place to start is with cheaper versions of the stuff you plan on buying. Sure, they aren't constructed as well, but I'm a 19 year old janitor and can only afford to buy more expensive stuff when I know it's something I'll wear like crazy.

Bottom line: The internet really convinced me that mall clothes suck a lot more than they actually do.

for devils advocate.

why would i waste money buying cheap stuff to then only spend more money to buy the things i actually wanted? especially when those cheap things are not representative of the things i wanted other than kind of/ sort of/ not really looking like them?

You're right. When you aren't sure about things you should spend more than you can afford on minor details that you might not want.

better off buying nothing at all though surely, or something else entirely rather than seeking out cheaper versions of what you plan on buying. if money is your concern.

logical conclusion: if you want something and find a cheap version that is palatable to you, and expense is a concern, just buy the cheap one and leave it there

How about judging each purchase on its own merit in accordance with your interests, desires, discretionary budget and an x-factor.

L8 night thoughts:

How do I take the next step from being able to appreciate unconventional fashion and recognize "good" fits are that are not traditional to being able to actually assemble shit like that on my own? Basically, I know dope when I see it, but how do I become dope?
