It's time to imagine you're moving to another city for 2 years (can't relate personally, all places are the same to me, I only travel internally) and post the generic list of clothing you would take (don't list exact items from your own wardrobe that's useless). My list is below! Items that are bulleted and bracketed are optional.

Shoes
- three season flat soled trainer (eg vans slip on, Adidas samba)
- "leather" "formal" shoes (eg black derby, boot etc)
- (activity shoe that is useful eg running shoe, hiking boot)
- (extra outdoor (not slippers) shoe eg sandals, summer shoe, boots, winter shoe, "fun" shoe)

Socks
- winter socks
- summer socks
- (normal socks)

Leg wear
- 3 season pair trousers (slash pockets)
- winter trouser (eg heavy wool Japanese archival)
- summer trouser (eg lightweight Maharishi Sno pant)
- shorts (non sport )

Next to skin upper
- 2x long sleeve collared shirt (1x date appropriate)
- 5 - 10x t shirts
- (thermal t shirts, linen shirts or shirt sleeve shirts depending on climate)

Mid layer upper
- Winter jumper (eg thickest jumper you own)
- Midweight jumper (eg Uniqlo Merino wool)
- Layer with a fastening that can be worn under outerwear (eg overshirt, cardigan, hoodie)
- (extra midweight or winter jumper depending on climate)

Outerwear
- Winter coat (warmest coat you own, must go with 3 season trouser and winter trouser)
- "weather proof" coat (must go with all three trousers)
- lightweight jacket (eg Chore jacket, casual blazer, harrington, North Face) (must go with all leg wear)
- (extra insulation eg insulated gilet, jacket liner)

Accessories
- winter hat
- summer hat
- scarf
- (extra hat or scarf)

Housewear
- winter house suit (eg blu du chine plus extra layer, sweats)
- summer house shorts
- slippers

Suit
- One casual suit

Sportswear
- not included in this list

what city are you moving to?

I'm not moving anywhere. Probably it would be most useful if you did it for your own city or a city you know I guess.

But if you want to imagine moving to another city go ahead! It's important to dream!

this is way too vague. list dorks need parameters. is the city provincial or a capital? are you going to write python on a business park or curate a biennale? (i guess both of these come down to personhood vs non-personhood)

I already told you you can use your own city or in my case, town. That tells you everything you need to know about personhood.

you people are being silly, the clothing and aesthetic you adopt via personal brand surely tells everyone exactly what politics and social conventions you ascribe to :^)

I would simply take all my clothes.

Date appropriate is just shorthand for a boring shirt that you could wear to funeral, job interview, dinner date, etc.
