I've worn girl's glasses for the past five years. Works out OK I guess.

Yes! I desperately need some but am unwilling to budget the funds for them right now.

I've got a pair of frames picked out that I want. Can't find the frame online right now but they're pretty round with thick arms coming out at the middle of the frame, really nice.

Need to replace my glittery ray-bans - these don't suit my face at all and are fading horrible along the arms. Had them for 4 years now, bleh.

I love my Wayfarer sunnies and don't find sunglasses so frightfully interesting compared to regular eyewear. Paid too much for them though.

Those ace-and-tate ones are an interesting shape. Won't look good on everyone that.

these are the parabellum collection, i believe of the 50 made there is only one left sitting for retail. will probably end up getting a regular pair when the time comes.

SALT glasses. it is pretty hard to resist the undefatiguable combo of handcrafted-in-japan x generously-letterspaced-sans-serif-all-caps-brand x period-in-the-brand-because-they're-the-best-period. these in particular (the dasha model) look like the kind of dog you'd like to own someday, and pose with in matching prescription glasses.



moo piyasombatkul glasses. let's face it at some point in life you realize "i want to adorn my eyes like i would a peacefully rococo home, with scrolly moulding and flourishes". (this may not actually be rococo. please give me a heads-up, i'm not the most informed re: art history and didn't quite know what to call this.)



oliver peoples x the soloist glasses. really like the metal bits folded over the joints between the sides and the front, it's a kind of old-man-retired-from-steampunk-cosplaying-y.



prada s/s 2011 womenswear. "hello i'm wearing 60's swim goggles" (1, 2) + "madame butterfly's eyebrows are flying away from her face" (3). as a sidenote, the models in this runway showing had a heavy block of silver eyeshadow directly below their eyebrows (4), and i first thought they were floating sunglasses and was so enchanted. if sknss doesn't continue her thread-creation-monopoly i would like a runway makeup thread, i think, and may make it.

lanvin s/s 2013 (i think) along similar lines as the last two headlines, but i feel the metal wire looping on the side is kind of cool. i confess i'm a little upset that i don't have enough examples (only this + the oliver peoples x the soloist ones above) to start a pinboard of "eyewear with little metal-y bits".



miu miu "catwalk noir" sunnies because i decided to go and hunt down "eyewear with little metal-y bits" anyway.



marc by marc jacobs f/w 2013–14. women's (1, 2) and men's (3). i think the variegated colour/pattern fills are so lovely







thematically-relevant although not really what this thread was going for: a girl wearing sunnies with a sunnies-printed skirt!

Those Mykita for Damir Doma and Prada goggle-glasses are the best thing

mykita just opened a store in my neighborhood. I should go in but it's very intimidating

Really feeling round specs right now and those Mykita for Damir Doma are so gorgeous (germ posted them earlier).

I made it into the mykita store. pretty next level stuff-- everything feels both lux but also really solid, not like what luxottica brands produce.

the brand really nicely toes the line between classic shapes and more forward thinking design. might cheat on oliver peoples and get my next pair of sunglasses there
