rules of CASUAL TIE:
yr tie shall never be wider than 2.5 inches (except for when it is)
thou shalt tie it slightly skewiff (except for when you don't)
thou shalt never tuck in yr shirt (except for when you do)
yr top button shalt never be buttoned (except for when it is)
and so on and so forth

I wish I could figure this out. I have so many ties I'd like to wear but never feel right about wearing them unless I'm wearing a suit or sport coat, a rare enough level of formality for me as it is. Would definitely get odd remarks at work or with most friends.

In a similar vane, who makes good cahzul tyes?
Let's push this motive

I bought a casual tie in 2002 from YOYO the vintage clothing shop in Birmingham that was where Atoo is now. It's bright red and about 2cm wide and apparently was Made In England by a company called "PLUS". I wore it constantly and still have it.
I got a second casual tie from my uncle. It's solid blue, about 4cm wide. I wore it with a white gap poplin shirt (still have it) and a brown corduroy blazer (gone) and blue straight legged jeans and trainers (gone and gone)

I really like the way Mr. Porter styled this. White dress shirt, busy tie, flannel overshirt functioning as a super-high button stance cardigan. I really want to recreate this some time with my blackwatch flannel tie.
