Warm up your ESP lobe and predict the next big thing here. Reference posts in our future for bragging rights while your contemporaries in differing timelines shake their heads in dismay.

Everything made of technical fabric.
More elasticated cuffs and zips.
High street goes linen crazy.
Some sort of backlash to floral prints?
Tie dye.

The GQ magazine I read at the library (I was bored, k) said that there is a dramatic shift in men's' fashion! O: we're switching from americana prep to european classic. All I know is it means Bradley Cooper is wearing white pants.
Realistically... I'm gonna say smoking jackets will become bigger. Or that style of mid-thigh jacket with unstructured lapels. iuno

Seen a lot of people with denim shirts but I don't think that's a trend.
Also seen a lot of sambas and puma shoes.
What's the next big outerwear? Fishtails and ma-1s are pretty much done with. I guess uniqlo could do a technical varsity next, or maybe mac coats.

LeBron James never wins another NBA Championship
Jeans get really, really wide by 2018.
Qatar doesn't pull off the world cup in 2022.
Red wing has serious financial troubles when workwear finally ends and probably comes close to scraping the heritage line everywhere except in Japan.
Wool single breasted coats for the next big mainstream outerwear.

from a state eduction side of the coin.
banter boys lapping up the topman clarks desert boots, mac/trench will rise due to the superdry/topman peacoat falling to saturation and this wave getting jobs in t- 15 months. strong shift amongst a group rejecting the traditional jd sports inspired approach in favour of something a bit more formal by a select demo in the British education system.
seeing a shift fully accepted within the next two years to where they wont be like the grey squirrel, but they'll be more than the unicorn they are now. will be buying one myself as 6876 have this crazy awesome one for a barg.
on the other hand,
agree with germ on polos, will also add the classic euro sports wear brands (ellese/le coq/reebok/kappa) coming back to prior glory days with the rejection of american lifestyle brands like hollister and abercrombie. fishtails everywhere at the moment and burton/topman are pushing several short parkas only real place to go from that is a full 90's jizz but not the shell suit/hi cut approach we sore last time.
colours also, none of this 'earth' shit i want proper ones, down with navy and olive up with racing green, racing red, sunflower yellow and lightning blue in rich hues.
also i saw vans slip ons looking non shit for the first time in 5 years so there is also that.

vans slip ons are about to get huge. popping up more and more on fashion boards and you can see heaps of designers wearing them when they come out to say thanks. also the large number of vans collabs featuring them in the last 9 months or so

Didn't Celine already release an ultra expensive version of the sneaker slip on in different colors and patterns a couple of seasons ago?
For womenswear I think there will be more labels specializing in luxe basics because minimalism is going to hit the masses soon enough as designers have been copying Phoebe Philo for years.

a few brands have put out their own versions of slip ons (diemme, cp) but I don't think it's large enough to be a real trend yet in the way that fishtails are, for example.

It's so weird because I was sure I'd stumbled across slip ons myself, I remember I was in South Africa this dec and one of my younger cousins was wearing a garish pair and I thought "Oh dope those would actually be really practical for my azn no shoes in the house lifestyle." But it's pretty clear I'd already been subliminally primed to think that because I've always known slip ons exist and the idea has never come to me before.

Is it just that the emo generation are growing up and feeling nostalgic about their Vans though?
