Sock theory question:
What color socks go best with light wash jeans and white sneakers in your opinion?

What are some good socks for women that are like high quality, interesting, but not too expensive? all my socks don't match or I have to sneakily borrow my roommates socks and its time to end this period in my life.

Yes. thanks! I think I will get some plain ones from there. I also want some of these. not sure what search words to use to find some that aren't for children.

I own these, and wear pretty much only these - the rest of my cotton uniqlo/whatever socks I save for exercising
80% lambswool 15% nylon 5% spandex, incredibly comfortable, hold up well to washing, and come to about $4 AUD shipped via ebay
Just stock up on black, light grey and dark grey - be warned though, you can only purchase 2 pairs of each colour and no more than 7 pairs total in every order, and you can only buy no more than 7 pairs every 10 days - I now have 4 pairs in each of the three colours, which is enough for me

How do I determine which socks complement the colourful/fun sneakers I want to wear without resorting to trial and error?

I know it is said you match your socks to your pants (not shoes) but I dislike this answer and now open the floor to alternatives

for reference these kinda sneakers:

recommended in the buyer's guide thread. Just got mine in the mail, very happy with the elastic. I'll post an update on how they hold up, but at around $2 per pair shipped, they're feeling great.

What do you all do in your socks that causes them to develop holes so quickly? I have Uniqlo socks that have been worn regularly for over two years and still in decent shape.

I've been looking at upgrading my socks recently and stumbled across Kerry Woolen Mills. These seem like a good choice to wear with my Birks and look super comfy, plus come from organically certified farms (environmentally conscious clothing is always a plus).

I'm having trouble sourcing these. I think I'm stuck ordering them from Ireland (duh), but it seems like every stockist is sold out of my size or costs a small fortune to ship. Anyone got any recs? Or other Birk friendly environment friendly wool walking socks?

ladywhite co is 70/30 org cotton/poly. mij. depending on how u see environmentally consc.

socks are also neat but only from jp so also same problem. also limited sizing cuz asian feet. they are quite thick so it may make some shoes a tight fit. also org. cotton (100% so not as stretchy too)

seems to have an interesting collection of recycled + org cotton/poly socks as well as 100% org. cotton ones. i have no personal exp w these but i'm pretty interested to see how they are

Ladywhite one-man band is my friend Phillip and he's very environmentally conscious, so much so that we have done a collaboration of dyed tees that we haven't shown anyone yet (it's perfect because he stitches with cotton too on them).

I always buy Uniqlo socks but my sock-friends have all been raving about rib-less ones from Marks and Spencers so I plan to try some of those next purchase.

really expensive at £17 but for what it's worth I have two pairs of paul smith floral socks that I've had for 5 or 6 years and they are still in great condition, and I have worn them quite a lot. you are going to have to be wearing a very high crop for the flower to be visible on these though!
