to get things started, I have been hardcore lusting after some ripple sole suede fracaps. just wish I could find some in a more peanut-ish shade

really tired of seeing those suede overtons everyone gets on amazon for somewhat cheap

love my diemmes, finishing is super good for how they're priced and they were stupid comfortable right out of the box.



whenever I end up taking my trip to portland I'm nabbing these from the factory store.

I'm in love with Guidi hikers, hopefully they make it to re-porter sale season. Probably still won't end up copping unless they get let me haggle them down to like $400 eventually.

are boots like the diemmes and danners posted actually good for hiking?

if so i am going to buy some, otherwise i will buy some ugly merrells or something. while my nb710s actually work pretty well for easy 2k footers, i need something a little more rugged.

diemmes are a fashion boot so not really, but they're way lighter and more comfortable as a result. danners are a lot heavier but actually function as hikers

zage reminded me that I have these TNFs, which are good for hiking (speaking from experience) but not gonna be something you'd resole a bunch of times and get 10 years of use out of.

Went and saw the W+H danners at Roden gray, pretty great. definitely the nicest leather i've ever seen them use.

Not sure I'm completely into the white ankle padding (beige might have been cool?) but these are fire. Looks like the welt is sealed with pine resin (same as the Sand W. Man boots from a while back, also made by Paraboot)

A1923 hiking-inspired boots

Picked up these Paraboot hikers from recently. Gorgeous shoes but fit a bit weirdly, going to wear them indoors for a few more days before deciding if I have to return them.

Came with blue and more classic yellow laces.

Related to last post, in the unlikely event anyone sees these Sand W. Man boots in a 43 I'd be eternally grateful for a heads up. Only ever seen them in small sizes (41)...
As well as the pine resin sealed welt, they are oiled leather and were (deliberately, or so they say) left in a warehouse for a year after they were made to allow the oils to fully seep in??

I saw a pair of hiking boots in a thrift store yesterday that kind of looked like one of these:

Now I can't stop thinking about them....who makes nonleather hiking boots shaped like those? A bit retro maybe? Certainly chunky and delicious.

I found these which are really amazing (and appear to be leather-free) but a totally different jizz. Gore-tex!!!! Same general shape I reckon.


These native joints are probably the best i'll find. Wish they were a bit less Minimal~ but i like them anyway.
