I like the jacket quite a bit. the severe hem on the jeans throws me off, I think longer jeans with a cuff would look nicer and pull everything together.

Which alpha industries is that? Their m51?

I feel like I know what you're going for but there's some subtle proportion or color thing that's holding you back. Can't quite pin it myself. Maybe the coat needs to be bigger or you need more contrast.

I agree ben. I had the pants leg folded up on the inside to try out a shorter length but I think I liked them better longer. and I know what you mean bela, something about the color and/or fit feels a little bit off to me but I can't really place it.

Didn't like the hat until scrolling down to the lower half where it made more sense, good stuff. Either the camera angle to the shape of the clothes are giving you odd proportions here though, I guess it's because the jumper is a quite a relaxed fit.

Try standing nearer the "center" of your image if you can? Feels like the camera is at an angle to you and you're off on one side. It's distorting your beautiful face.

I gotta disagree with syek. I think your shirts all sort of make you look boxier than you are and it messes with your proportions. Your fit with the sweatshirt looked much more normalized than the accentuated top block you get with the button downs you've posted recently.

I think it has a bit to do with the length. The dana shirts are a bit cropped on you. Not sure if that one is dana as well, but it gives the same effect of a boxy, truncated torso.

i think a longer shirt that doesn't hug your abdomen so closely might look better

i think you'd also do well to not roll yr sleeves and to let yr trousers stack... balancing yr proportions against the width of your shoulders. Your patagonia fit is one of yr best proportions-wise because the longsleeves covering your hands a little, the kangaroo pocket, the stacked chinos and the boots all add increasing amounts of visual weight to the outfit as you go down. Contrast with this, where i've never seen wallabees look so... dainty.

You're obviously hench as fuck tho so i appreciate this advice might not be practical or whatever

You're not 'boxy' you're BROAD, which is badass. If this was my outfit the only thing I'd change is I'd wear a vest under the shirt and leave it open. Then again, I almost never wear a closed shirt because I think unless it's huge it makes me look like sausagemeat.

Relaxed shirt and cardi combo is great. Texture on that cardi is lush. Baggier trousers would have been nice but not necessary.

Wish the trousers were wider in the leg and pinrolled in tighter and higher up the boots.

Side shot, jacket closed, sleeve accidentally rolled up a bit:

is that that yohji?? yeah boiiii
something about the colours is off... not sure but i think it's either the belt or the trousers. altho it's almost certainly just the colour balance throwing things off
would like to see how it looks with your howell trousers
would also like to see the militarian aspects amplified even more, i think that could be fun
also, how does it look from the front when closed? could imagine the little patch of shirt left by the cutaway could look awkward (or a great excuse to buy even higher-rise trousers)

It's Yohji mainline SS08 ("defeated army")

Was playing with a less good version of the runway fit:

Image

In real life it's darker than that (no runway spotlights) but lighter than in my photo.

No natural lighting means the colours are shit and I had to fix them a in GIMP. The belt is terrible though and the colour of it spoils things.

Will give it a go with Howell when I've better shoes/boots for that, think Iron Rangers would look like poo with those trousers.

Cutway does indeed leave shirt showing:

Looks drastic with this shirt but I actually kinda like the awkwardness of it.

Do you have any miltarial suggestions germ? I want to amp them up but without steering into parody. I think jodphur shaped trousers would be a good start, maybe with a boot tuck.
