My shoes are shit and falling apart because they're crap but they looked . I rarely wear brown shoes (once or maybe twice a week tops) and haven't bothered to buy some decent ones yet.

ben hasn't chimed in about his therapy fit philosophy yet.

I think personally, it was about being afraid to appear strong when seeking help. On the one hand, I feel as though there might have been something to do with deliberately wanting to seem pitiable so that people would want to help me, which I'm pretty sure is a bad thing. But on the other hand maybe it was about being humble whilst asking for help. I'm not sure if it really makes sense to be trying to ball hard whilst asking for help. I feel I'd interpret that as not really coming to terms with the situation, acting like things are fine. I'm at therapy but these shoes cost more than my first car. Then again, why does asking for help need complete submission?

I am not good at seeking help.

Honestly think those suede dubmonks could work in this sort of outfit. Though maybe not with the blue shirt. Anyway it's moot as they're sold out of my size now.

One of the worst things is when you miss a bargain and feel the loss so keenly, that you then go and pay full price for something similar.

Yeah that's the poison feeling, it's sorely unpleasant

I'd like suede double monkeys here but best in dark brown

What's the deal with the belt? Looks like there's some real chunk going on at the buckle

Is that a fez?

Well the ospence site still has those dub monks in cola suede in my size. #150 though isn't quite the impulse buy territory. Plus really.. even if I did own those I wouldn't have worn them today with the storms outside.

Couldn't resist the fez. I do actually own one but obviously.. it doesn't get much wear.

Dunno about the belt. Just an Andersons one that I wear when I don't want to wear leather. Quite like it but it's maybe getting a bit too small. I like belts a lot. Belts are like ties for the modern world.

fok (the guy who runs styleforum) buys like 2-3 new designer belts a year and it cracks me up that he is so obsessed with them.

speaking of which, i need a new one. probably gonna do one of those veg tan deals. probably get some raws and wear them together like its still 2008.

my swiss army belt was a huge waste of money imo. Not just because I ruined it by cutting it too small either.

On point ryce. Though if I saw you here I might think you were a chief.

It makes a big difference to one's ability to get perspective and learn about yourself and how clothes relate to you

Not necessary for "next level" (let's never utter that again on here, ey?) dress apart from the feedback and perspective aspects. You've seen yourself a million times in jeans/t-shirt but maybe not a full yohji outfit you know?

photographs make you acutely more aware of the details of your outfit
you'll notice people who say "oh in the photo it looks like my pants are too short but in real life they're not like that"

there is no hiding in photographs, forces you to up your game

The secret to my so called transformation...

I think photos can be more real and less real. I'm not sure I consider them infallible.

I sometimes like to consider if the practice of taking and sharing fit pics has influenced fashion and how.

Got utterly caned wearing this in the rain today. Jacket wet through on the shoulders and my legs were totally drenched. Nice reminder that a waterproof jacket is only as good as the waterproof trousers you're wearing underneath it.

Would rather have worn this fit with the trews/roll/shoe combo here:

But I guess it just wasn't to be.

can you stand closer to the camera or something.

looks good tho. I think if you wanted to you could easily fit a brand like 3.1 lim or Schneider into your wardrobe pretty seamlessly

I could crop it down a bit more. The big pic is on dressed.so for the zooming though there's not a huge amount of detail captured on the phonecam.

Jacket is 65/35 cotton nylon. I should take a pic of the tag actually because it's got the Japanese care icons on it.

Umbrellas are the way forward tbh Syek but I have a rule that I never leave the house with an umbrella unless it's actually raining when I step out the door. Hate carrying one "just in case"

I have a love/hate relationship with this shirt. The fit is great but the sleeves are too and the point collar is crazy.

Wouldn't have had you down as a french cuffs to work man syek. Looks on point but something about the pocket square bugs me. Like it's matching the tie tonally or something.

Thought you worked "with computers" ? Strong dress code for a code slinger.

Yeah, with computers but as a consultant and with banks so we're obliged to wear suit-and-tie. I take liberties and have fun with it because life's too boring otherwise.

I french cuff on occasion but not regularly.

Pocket square i chose hoping to get it in between suit and tie in both shade and tone (it's a greyish blue) but i think it comes off a little planned like that.

Really like this syek. Jacket looks super good, although admittedly I know very little about these things.

Not a huge fan of the tie or pocket square, but again, I don't really know what I'm talking about.
