I did a lot of twerking today. Just came in and twerked, browsed the internet, wrote a rap about oversized nonnative cardigans etc. Twerked till lunch then went for a run, came back and twerked some more.

regarding miley: i remember seeing an interview with her when "party in the usa" came out. the interviewer asked her what jay-z songs she liked and miley was unable to actually name one, which i thought was kind of interesting (and tied into cameron's point about her not actually hanging out with black people). but in defense of miley, i think that if you went to any college campus this weekend, your odds of seeing a bunch of drunk white girls twerking at a frat party would be really high. they might have actually been higher pre-VMAs but now things have begun to enter a vortex of self-parody. regardless, though, how many affluent suburban white kids idolize black/urban culture or whatever? you see it all the time, but most of us aren't famous performers who have the opportunity to expose this obsession to millions of people.

Before the My Bloody Valentine performance tonight they displayed a sign saying:

"The promoters have decided to enforce Belgian law because they are AFRAID of the Belgian AUTHORITIES.

"mvb would look to point out that Belgium is the ONLY COUNTRY to pass such an UNINTELLIGENT LAW".

Much protest about how quietly they were forced to play. It really was a shame, I had no ear plugs in and it was like listening to a record at home. Couldn't even hear the vocals.

Good performance though.

Disappointing, but to be fair, it's easy for MBV to be punk rock about it, they can play somewhere else when the venue gets shut down or someone loses their job.

Yeah totally, not much anyone can do. It's been really disappointing since that law came into effect - festivals this year were less engaging because of it, it's easier to hear people around you talk than the music and it really pulls me out of the spirit of things.

I've been trying to lose weight since January but holy hell the last 1-2kg seems so astronomically unattainable, not to mention the plateau I have to break through midway. While in the process of trying to lose the fat in my triceps, my biceps and shoulders got bigger instead. smh.

This may seem irrelevant to most guys, but sub 'lose weight' with 'gain muscles', that might help.
