I just watched that game in a bar full of Germans, and from the 20th to the 30th minute, every jaw was on the ground. I'm utterly speechless. There are too many problems for the Brasilian people to scapegoat anyone here, and I'll be really pissed if Fred/David Luiz/Scolari bear the brunt of this. Apparently riots have started and the German fans will be escorted out of the Estadio Mineirao.. The most interesting thing about this match will be the effect on Brasil as a nation.

i am so sad for brazil, seeing the fans crying in the stands broke my heart. can't say they didn't deserve it, they looked especially listless after the second goal, but damn... to go out that way in your home country, a country that is pretty much the symbol of soccer worldwide, is so sad. david luiz praying at the end tugged at my heartstrings, and oscar crying into thiago silva's arms :(

i knew they would be coming in shaken because of neymar's scary injury and the loss of thiago (2nd yellow looks even stupider in hindsight), but they just didn't stand a chance. germany hammered them.

rooting for argentina. a germany/netherlands final will be lame as fuck.

whaaaaaaat? Germany-Holland is one of the greatest rivalries, it'd be much more hype than Germany-Argentina. Plus if Holland beat Argentina, Brasil get a chance at redemption in the third-place playoff.

Edit: shocking spelling

i was pulling for concacaf/non european teams all tourney. i would be so bored with a euro-euro final again, especially netherlands. i fucking hate oranje. the push and aggression that south american teams have been showing all cup long is so much more exciting.

edit: yeah i was rooting for brazil to go all the way, too. would have been epic

shots on goal first half
i agree with hoopla Argentina vs Germany is going to be the most exciting match
EDIT: Also at the end of the game the brazilians where chanting Fred go fuck yourself

Was watching the game with my cousin who is a Brazil fan. My celebrations got louder after each goal to the point where i was doing a little jig. Decided to leave at half time because he looked on the verge of tears.

I was expecting Germany to win... but wtf was that lol.

Having Neymar on the squad wouldn't have made a difference imo but the state of the defence without Thiago Silva proved how important he is as both a player and a captain he is for them imo.

David Luiz was absolutely useless, never went back to defend after his pointless runs into the German half. Can't compliment the rest of the defence either though...

Have to feel sorry for them but can't say they didn't deserve such a beating with the way they played.

Sort of hope that Argentina can win the whole thing because that would be adding salt to the wound, but Germany v. Holland final and Brazil v. Argentina matches would be great. Two derbys basically.

watch the brazilians doing on this second goal - it looks like they're defending but if you watch what each player does, there's maybe a token effort and then they walk. shameful defensive display.

It just looked as though nobody in that Brazil side had any idea what they were supposed to be doing. They looked disorganised defensively throughout the tournament but yesterday they (a) came up against a much better opponent than in their previous fixtures, and (b) the glue that (just about) held the team together - Thiago Silva - wasn't there.

It'll be interesting to see how/if they can recover from this, not just on Saturday but over the next year or so. With better coaching, and less pressure/emotion, they have the potential to be such a great team - and they certainly looked a good team in the Confederations Cup last year. On paper, I'd fancy them against anybody if they can find a better striker.

It'll also be interesting to see where Scolari goes next. It was only a few years ago that he ended up at Bunyodkor (?) in Uzbekistan.

Brazil lost the game before it even began, there was way too much pressure put on the players, and in previous games you could see how emotional they where which was a fatal flaw.
after the first goal you could see the fear in the players eyes.
I believe that Dilma will have to deliver the cup to the winning team imagine how humiliating would that be if the cup goes to Argentina

Romero has shut me up today. Solid performance.

Hey sidewalk, maybe I should go to the ear doctor because I can't hear the sound of the Dutch winning.

Mascherano played amazingly despite the knock that looked to be a possible concussion... Played exactly how a DM should. Even though he was obviously a great asset to the team I do think that medical staff need to have the final say in whether players can continue or not when it comes to head injuries and he should have probably gone off. Scary seeing him just stumble then fall like that after the hit.
