Mum and Dad's garden bears pears every year, but they never do anything with them. Today I went and picked them and made a chutney with them because I need to keep my mind off work
Peeling apples and pears. Exhausting.

In the pan! ... I ended up needing a bigger pan. We had pears, apple, celery, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, onion, apple cider and I used date syrup instead of brown sugar.

Jarring them. This was hot work but they should keep for 6 months.

Final tally. The small ones will be gifts for my girlfriends family and I made a sauce from the left over liquid at the end.

I made mum a cheddar and chutney bap straight after. I don't eat cheese, but she said it was a match made in heaven.
