Got my care-share today from
This package fell pretty nicely between Halloween and my birthday, so it's basically a birthday scare-share for me.
I was too excited to wait til I got home so I decided to pop the package open at work...
Spoilers contain closer-up shots of some of the items that have cool details or whatever. Excuse the nail polish. Might not fit my aesthetic but it was for good Halloween times.
Anyhow, onto the package as I ramble...
I read the note first. Quite surprised that everything fit into a relatively small box. Anyhow, a very nice note that outlines everything that he got me.
Uniqlo socks. Yep, he's right, we can always have more socks. Also they have little doghouses and huskies on them. Huskies are probably in my top 5 favorite dog breeds because they look so ridiculous (derpy wolves). 'Qlo also captured the icy blue eyes nicely. Super cute, super cool!
Less is more pin. Ya know, for now, it's going on my desk. If/when I get my battlejacket going I'll make sure to place the pin on nicely. It's also funny how it's supposed to be minimalist but they mention the website on the side. Pins are always fun, maybe I'll stick it on my beanie or just to random articles of clothing I own.
Ximon the LEGO mini-figure. Who's Ximon? A bespoke rjbman LEGO figure, that's who. I like to imagine he's 100% unique and I have the only one. Either way, he's going on my desk along with all my other collectibles. He's small, so he'll be near the front and he can provide me sci-fi flintstone when I'm writing. He's also got a gun/hand-cannon thing. Given the theme of the package, I think he's a space explorer, so I'm going with that for now.
Masala chai tea bags from a Chicago tea store. I love tea. Tea is great. In fact, I'm drinking tea right now. Chai is really tasty and now I have more chai to experiment with!
Chuppon "cultivation kit with self-watering animal planter." Oh god, how is this a thing? It's so cute. Apparently it'll grow me wild strawberries. Really cute, I'll set this up soon, I think. This can liven up my room some. Apparently this lil guy "drinks" when the plants are thirsty. I have no idea how we'll know when the plants are thirsty, but I'll test it out. Magic is afoot, I think.
Stone Island Shadow Project lookbook. I love lookbooks. Also this isn't really a book because it's only a couple leafs long, but each page is folded... I can't think of the right word, like a pamphlet perhaps. It's actually quite hefty, they used nice glossy paper and everything. I've always been interested in techwear so this lookbook will give me ideas if I ever jump into the aesthetic. Otherwise, I'll look at the cool clothes and drool over the fabrics (I can that, right? Waterproof n all?). It's also in two languages.
Monocle... magazine-book-thing. It's really heavy magazine! The tagline is "a briefing on global affairs, business, culture & design." Sounds cool. I've never seen or heard of this magazine, so it'll be an adventure. There's apparently a mini-book inside about cuisine as curated by Turkish Airlines. Looks like I can start being cultured and proper now. There's a lot of food and fashion in here. I'm going to have fun reading this.
Two books: River of Gods and The Windup Girl. Two sci-fi novels about a futuristic India. rjbman likes the books. They sound really fun. Since I'm basically writing sci-fi for my senior project, I bet I'll be able to gleam a lot of details and ideas from these novels... so entertainment and utility filled! I also need more books in my life. I read a lot less than I'd like.
All-in-all a whole bunch of really nice things. I can't wait to try them out/read them/wear them/do whatever it is I do with them! Thanks a bunch rjbman!
Wanna redneck? I'll do him an egg. NO SYMPY!
