did boris johnson back out of the running because he knows if he wins he will have to actually deal with the brexit situation? At the moment it seems to be a lose-lose situation for whoever has to sort it out, it looks like we will agree access to the single market, continue paying into the EU and still have free movement, so basically a colossal waste of everyone's time, leavers will be pissed off that we are still paying in and will still have free movement, remainers will be pissed off at what a huge shambles this whole thing has been, are we basically just going to be letting go of our veto and losing some EU regulations? I don't see how we could possibly come out of brexit better than we were, especially when it looks like the main Leave arguments are quickly being swept under the carpet (350mil a week, too much immigration, TAKE BACK OUR DEMOCRACY). So what was the point? My guess is Johnson will try to come in for leadership of the tory party after the next leader has become associated with brexit and he can just come in and say that they didn't do it right. Him and Gove are probably in cahoots over this whole thing, by making it look like Gove has outmanoeuvred Johnson it gives him the perfect excuse to not take responsibility and sort out Brexit.
