That goal was out of hand. I watched the whole game, actually, pretty crazy to see the away crowd applaud a goal. Ibra is really really insane to watch, super fun. Very sad we won't get to see him or Ronaldo in the WC this summer.

i don't know if anyone still cares about baseball but this was this happened:
i have been watching baseball pretty religiously for more than 20 years (christ i'm old) and i can't remember an ending as weird as this to any game, much less the world series.

Obstruction call. I'm not sure how I feel about it, because Craig can't really run, I'm not sure he would have made it either way. These are maybe my two least favorite teams in the league so I'm pretty ambivalent about the series, but of course I'm watching it.

anyway, doublepost for other sports shit:
i swam in my first meet in almost five years and it was a weird feeling getting back in the pool. i've been swimming minimally but consistently over the past two years, so it's not like i was completely out of touch with the water but i got up on the blocks and was like "how do i even put my feet?" when the first race rolled around, i did my whole ritual that came back as naturally as anything i've ever done and when i placed my feet i realized i had practiced it incorrectly 30 minutes prior. anyway, my fake seed times were really pessimistic and i was only 4 seconds off a pr in the 100 free and 2 seconds off a pr in the 50 free, both on mediocre swims. i felt kind of bad blasting out everybody else in my heat, though.

How'd you manage to stay in the game so tight after 2 years out of it? Is minimally but consistently like 3x a week instead of 5x?

This Bulls season is not going the way I thought it would. The NBA in general, really.

I firmly believe we're going to have to have patience with this team.

I was at a party with an ex-nfl player last night and we chatted about it. He, and all of his old football buddies seem to be on Incognitos side, saying that this is just how it is, and that if you 'can't take the heat, get out of the fire'. I argued with him for a bit, but we were both a little too drunk to make our points.

Michael Crabtree came back and our offense looked amazing. Crushed the rams, and only gave up a garbage time td with mostly second stringers in. Almost went something like 10 quarterswith no TDs allowed. But at the same time Staley went down with a sprained MCL. Same injury iupati has. damn.
I really really hope we can crush the fucking seahawks at candlestick.

Barring major injuries, beating Ghana, tying Portugal, and then hoping to tie an already-qualified Germany and go through on goal difference is the most likely scenario for America advancing. Pretty similar to how we advanced in 2002 and I think if we had beaten Ghana in 2006 we would have gone through in a similar manner.
And hey, we beat Germany in a friendly last summer. Granted, there were no Bayern, Madrid (including Ozil), or Dortmund players in the lineup.
I haven't totally given up hope but it doesn't look great.

I hope Baylor doesn't majorly screw up today. It's always great to beat Texas.

God, I really hope that Portugal won't advance. It's really not about the fact that they beat us, but more about how much I hate cr7.
