"Designers and Brands as Food" Thread.

Puns, what each designer would make, what collaborations would look like, what a designer probably eats, all here.

I thought this may be more off-topic, but then I though this sort of explores how fashion influences other aspects of life and may help provide a "Explain Like I'm 5" explanation of some designers via food analogies (with some other stuff too). I'm having fun already.

I feel that Todd Synder would be a sort of tomato soup- comfy and good on an overcast day

OurLegacy would be a sashimi because they're great but not for everybody

Patrik Ervell would be a chicken burrito bowl. Healthy, creative and pretty to look at

CdG Play is an overpriced plate of novelty heart-shaped rice

J crew is a chicken sandwich. Safe and good until you just want some fucking avocado on it.

APC feels like steak-frites to me

Rick owens, inspired by the Big Mac (Royale with Cheese elsewhere, I hear) took to playing on what we consider to be "hamburgers". The GeoMcBasket, instead of three pieces of bread and two pieces of meat has five and four respectively. While the bun (what we would consider to be the "standard" way to present hamburgers) are actually raw pieces of dough hewn into shape by his bare hands. The hamburger patties themselves are so large they start to sag over the sides and drape over one another. There's no condiments added, but many people like to spice it up with the competing restaurant- Orange Julius_7- and their spin on condiments. The hamburger costs 95$ and triggerdisk posts black and white pictures of him rubbing his face with it- almost how Rick envisioned it being used, but not quite there- every so often on instagram.

APC is sliced white bread from an expensive grocery store.

wtaps is an MRE with a bunch of corny slogans on the packaging

Gap is a chocolate chip cookie- very good but somewhat of a food that everybody goes to

Band of Outsiders is a Twinkie. Beautiful and lets us experience the "good old days"

Dries Van Noten is a guacamole. Looks unappealing to some people, but to the people that love mexican food, it's a staple and can be changed with many variables- peppers, cilantro, salt, amount of avocado. Etc

Palace is pre Jamie's school dinners school dinner

Margaret is allotment grown veg with fancy sausages from the market

Peir wu is a steamed up London noodle bar

Old town is Norfolk stuffed crab

LL Bean is a burger. Dressed up or down, it's american all the way baby

Acne is a clean plate of filet mignon tartare (with a side of surströmming for some reason)

Refined but still distinctly (often weirdly) Swedish

EG is a japadog. Classic american food with quirky japanese twist.

WvB is a penis-shaped vegan cake

Band of Outsiders would be 'I can't believe it's not butter.' margarine
