i scanned some 3 year old film which you can find on my flickr, was a recent post. i also have an almost finished roll with shots spread out over a few years on there. also have a few rolls of mf film from years ago i need to get processed

ordered two rolls of different b&w then. both iso 400 too silly me. should be fun either way though. do you scan your own negs? do you print?

gf has a film scanner so i've scanned the recent ones. very few prints, didn't do them myself. unfortunately i have never developed film myself and i feel like less of a photographer for that.

i hope the other roll was hp5 cuz i love hp5

has anyone ever sold their work? a few of my local coffee shops have pictures up and some of them are mediocre at best, so I might try to take some local pictures and see if I can sell them. who knows.

sorry for double post. got my k1000 today and have been playing around with it without film right now. sometimes the mirror stays up after releasing the shutter :[. It was only 25$ for the thing and two lenses so I'm not too upset about it, and everything else works fine so I can still shoot, but I will probably miss some shots, which is kind of sad. :[

My understanding is that there's almost no market at all for selling individual photos. Just shoot what you like, be involved in your local community of photographers, and let stuff happen (smiling)

Oh man, so many double posts, I apologize.

Is anyone a part of an online photo community that focuses more on the art of the pictures? It seems like most communities are very gear-centric.

Surprisingly, /p/ was pretty photo-centric back when I posted there years ago. Lots of gear shit but everyone just told them to fuck off.

I've sold a few photos at a local small gallery/vintage shop. Not really sure how to expand past that though.

Tried my best with the blood moon last night with only my 50 1.8. I didn't expect greatness and I'm actually impressed that one can see any detail at all in the moon.

Also tried for a star pano but failed epicly. Gotta get to a darker place.

I have been taking a b+w film photography class at University to fulfill my fine arts requirement.. really enjoying it, especially getting to work in a dark room, and have been shooting with a Pentax k1000... thinking of buying one since they are so cheap but is there a ''better'' camera I should get that doesn't cost much more? Would spend upto $150 or $200 but it seems like everything other than the k1000 I look at takes a massive leap in price.

I've been interested in a few different things with my photography lately, one of them being movie-like wide aspect ratios, mostly 2,39:1, and another one being more layered compositions. I'll need to experiment a lot more with these. I'm so happy that I have finally, after a year or two of not having a direction, found a few themes or techniques that I feel I want to embrace and explore further
