Hey guys.
This thread is about the Eric Lampton ARG that went on during the summer break. I figured I’d do a walkthrough to help people catch up.

So the first thing you need to do is access and start exploring the site.

I don’t think I have found all the tracking numbers so please tell me if you have more! I don’t want to spoil the game by giving you the tracking numbers directly but I can show you where I found them. If you are desperate you can still message me.

Also if this is out of order I’m sorry, I’m typing this from memory.

Eric mentioned that he was selling some DOWLAND pieces on grailed so you should check that out. You’ll get a tracking number. Then you can try emailing Eric.

He also mentioned posting on reddit/r/malefashion. From there you’ll find his imgur account that should give you two tracking numbers. We started to get hints about things happening in Chicago and fake canada.

Then the fun part started and the cryptic crossword appeared. I can give you hints if you message me. You don’t really need fashion knowledge to finish it. If it’s your first time, this can help you: . You’ll get another tracking number, which will give you another email address (try it) and a series of numbers.

After that Meade Montes left a message for Eric on the care tags front page telling him to go check out two GPS coordinates: 43.775342, -79.414147 (43.777083, -79.414772 ) in fake canada and 41.921698, -87.697323 in Chicago. Some users went there and found a rice cooker advert with a phone number to call.

The two numbers gave us voicemails recorded in Brazilian. I’ll paste them here because honestly that was a nightmare to translate and I don’t wish it to anyone.

So these two tracking numbers should give you a bunch of letters that you need to combine. There’s a hint in the ebay page on how to do so. When you get something that looks like a URL, you will need to decypher it. It is a common cypher.



The decyphered URL will lead you to CAREFAX! You can explore it and have fun.
You’ll find a tracking number there.
You will also need to pay attention to the imgur links. They contain some important bits of information. You will have to put them all together in a certain order. You’ll understand by going back to the page you found thanks to the crossword. If this is too obscure still please message me.

Congratulations! You finished the ARG. Now there’s another game to play! You can download TADS3 to open the file.

Whilst writing the ARG I listened to nothing except an audiobook of The Exegesis which was about 50 hours long or something. It took up all the space on my phone so I had to delete all my LINE stickers.

Do you ever feel sorry for the people who didn't play the ARG grubbinlod? Like feel a deep pity but know there's nothing you can do for them and they'll just have to move on.
