I've been trying out sweet spreads from different countries

Crunchy speculoos cream from Belgium, which is better than Nutella (don't hit me)


Sweetened condensed milk which is really popular in Russia (you can actually spread it onto toast, it's like honey kinda)

condensed milk is great. My mother-in-law makes roti and dips it in condensed milk. The word "speculoos" sounds absolutely fucking disgusting. It sounds like a medical term for something someone would spit up from their lungs or something. I'm sure it tastes good though.

Speculoos (or "Spekulatius" in Germany) is a traditional winter treat. Just look at this, how can you say no to it?


Some typical christmas treats: left is marzipan, middle is speculoos and on the right are cinnamon stars. You should definitely try them at some point.
