: so true! it feels like nothing and can hang out there for much longer (both in terms of capacity and safety reasons). i get a kick out of thinking about all the trash i've saved for the past seven years and it feels so nice to have a one-and-done solution vs having to constantly restock supplies. ps, have you seen ? it's so beautiful and elegant (:
iud so far is a+. (i got the kyleena. 's a nice chart comparing brands and dosages.) i got mine in june so it's still a little early (two months in) but so far only positive comments. pain during actual insertion is two brief sharp pinches -- it does hurt but it's basically nothing in the grand scheme of things. i think the more relevant concern may be cramping afterwards (could last a day or so?) but it varies person by person and i had virtually none. i don't cramp during my period so maybe that is a factor.
side effects wise, no big changes to report (besides a little spotting and no period). that's a huge difference from taking combo pills, which my body really didn't receive well.
